Motorcyclist do this all the time!
Dont matter what bike you ride.
BMW riders dont tend to reply. Too stuck up! LOL
Could you imagine the chaos it would cause if ALL car drivers started to do this as well????

Hi Jase
It maybe a gear linkage adjustment but normally it would indicate a weak detent spring. Not an easy job. Gearbox out and strip to replace the faulty spring. If its a recon box, why not take it back to your supplier?

If you get the UCH from the doner car (which is now mashed into a pulp) and the press button key fobs and transfer the UCH to your vehicle it will work. Just swop over the key blades from your key heads to the doner set.
The computer, the UCH and the key heads (PLIP) are coded to ONE vehicle...
Heres a wiring diagram of the electric windows.

Have a look at all the connections and do a continuity check.

Each ECU is unique to the vehicle it was fitted to. The code is memorised and cannot be undone. A new computer is VIRGIN and the code from the (UCH)decoder will be memorised in the new computer once the ignition is turned on.
Taking a computer from one car to another just will not work...

I was caught doing 72 in a 40 zone.
Went to court - faced the magistrates - thought Id murdered someone, not got caught speeding! due to their stoney faces and lack of a sense of humour!
Got a letter from my boss saying if I lost my licence I would loose my job!
Received a £200 fine and 5...

Not exactly what I was trying to find but near the mark.
For the car owner
EOBD checks are also likely to become part of the annual MOT test, either alongside or integrated into the emissions test. Any vehicle with the malfunction indicator lamp illuminated or with any recorded faults...
Hi CJ
I see quite a few of these cars during the week and I always check the trip computer to see what MPG the owners are running at.
I have seen as low as 19.8 to 39.9 MPG
Depends, obviously, how you drive it!

Hi Matt
OK
Although it sounds a bit iffy, check the bulbs. Look carefully at the fillement inside the bulb to make sure it is connected at both ends. Funny old game but if one bulb fails, the other one can as well, just one of those quirky electrical thingies!
Its generally ALWAYS the...

Hi Matt
You say you have checked everthing and now assume its an earth fault.
How have you checked everthing?
Not wishing to sound too much like telling grandmother how to suck eggs but, have you checked for a live feed to the lamps? Should...

Hi Rich
The diagnostic socket is indeed used for diagnosing faults on your car.
We plug in a laptop computer and can view all the systems on your car and hopefully find out what (if anything) has gone wrong.
It serves no purpose for the...

A 12 volt system wouldnt hurt a fly. Try holding both battery terminals to see if you get a shock! NO YOU WONT!
Dont even bother with the idea, youll probally just burn your car to a cinder.
Amperage is the stuff shocks are made of not voltage.
I dont know how you will be able to induce a...
With the 13mm nut undone, give the wiper arm a GOOD yank in the normal direction of the wiper sweep. This should break the arm away form the spindle. Renault recommend the use of a spacial tool for removing the arm, but if you still have trouble, use a 2 or 3 legged puller.

Sorry we cant disclose such sensitive information.

The aerosol bacterial spray is:-
£13.74 + VAT
Should be enough in the can for 2-3 treatments.
Didnt get the part number though as I have been SOOOOO busy today!

Could be the driveshaft outer CV joint. Check the gaiter for any signs of leakage. If it only happens at low speeds and on a lock, chances are its the CV joint.
