If it becomes sensitive when cornering it may be due to the weight transfer and the difference in speed of the 2 front wheels. Does it happen on left and right bends?
The ABS moniters front left and right seperately and the rears together.
If there is a difference in front road wheel speeds...
Its a common problem with GTTs.
Partially blocked fuel filter or it could be the small microfilter on the fuel inlet pipe going into the carb.
Replace the fuel filter first. Cheap and easy and I bet you a YORKIE bar it will cure your problem.
Post the Yorkie to the usual address! LOL ;)...
Sounds to me that you have a flat battery. The alarm DOES not cut the power to the car. So, if nothing works, then its a flat battery.
Hope that helps.

This is the only answer to avoid getting shocks when exiting your car. Open the door and grab the metal frame BEFORE you leave the seat. This way you will discharge the static electricity. It is to do with atmospheric conditions, the clothes you wear, even your metabilism can have an effect...
You want to try riding a MOTORCYCLE!
If you want to become INVISIBLE that is, and have every Tom Dick or Harry pull out in front of you.

They can be quite unpredictable when driven hard and braking hard. It does sound like it just a characteristic though, especially as its done it from new.
Bob RTE
Its just a characteristic of the 172. They do squirm under hard braking from high speed. I doubt its a fault with the electronic brake distribution.
But on a safety aspect, get your local Renault dealer to check it out.
Better safe than sorry.

Doesnt AC cool and dry the incoming air?
Renault do sell the anti-bacterial spray. Its an aerosol can with a long tube. Just poke it down all the dash air vents and it will leave your car smelling of oranges for days.

Hi Alymac
I have received your PM and will now give you my considered opinion.
The item in your picture which is starting to rust is an acoustic weight. It is made out of cast Iron and unfortunately will rust as Renault dont go to a great deal of trouble to paint these items.
Its NOT...
I cant answer this question.
It does seem a bit daft that the vehicle only requires an inspection after 3 years irrespective of mileage.
How would it be policed though?
Make it a compulsory test when the vehicle is 1 year old and then every year after that would seem the best policy...
Hi Fatherted
Theres no need for an apology or a big slice of humble pie!
I could have been WRONG! I do make mistakes but I was sure about this until you said I might wrong! I couldnt wait to phone the ministry tomorrow to put my own mind at rest!
But thanks to you, we are now both fully...
I will be phoning the Ministry on Monday to clarify this spare wheel issue.
I am not going to be drawn into an arguement regarding this.
Will post my answer on Monday.

Always ask for a quote or estimate IN WRITING if possible. You are only liable for the repairs/work carried out that you have agreed to. However, if you say "Go ahead and do the work" then you have just signed an open cheque book! ALWAYS ASK FOR AN ESTIMATE!

There are several tools required to replace a wheel bearing. The main one being a hydraulic press. Unless you have access to a press I wouldnt try this at home!
If you want to do some of it yourself - you can.
Undo the 30mm driveshaft nut.(Easier to undo with the wheel on the ground. Jack up...
This knocking is currently under investigation by Renault Technical.
At this time there is no solution or recall notice.
I will post details when I know what the cause / cure is.

We can all form our own opinion of what an MOT is or is not. You are correct when you say that the MOT is only valid at the time of test, but the spare is not a testable item and therefore a spare tyre that is/has:- bald, flat, cuts, gouges or even missing will not result in a...
Hi Colin
I have looked into this matter for others and to date there doesnt appear to be any listings for these CUP goodies from Renault.
As soon as I find out more info, I will post it here.
