hi, my car is a bit hesitant first thing in the morning. i tend not to go over 3k rpm until it's warmed up anyway, but it's not very smooth when cold. sorts itself out after a mile or so.
i've also got the emissions light on the dash, though i dont think it came on when the problem started...
have you tried the screwdriver test? use a screwdriver around the engine bay to pinpoint the noise. if you put the end of the handle to your ear and the business end of the screwdriver on a solid object, it amplifies the noise, like a stethoscope. might be worth trying this on the top of the...
could be. if the little arm in the starter motor isn't springing back quickly enough it may be getting caught. i don't know how easy it will be to get WD40 to it though. i've taken a couple of starter motors apart and there isn't much to them so you could always give that a go, that way you...
thanks all. i'm off to a breakers yard next weekend. no idea if they have any clio sports but my bro needs to go anyway. and i need a hazard light switch :)
at least i now know not to get any non-sport liners.
hi, how to resolve dodgy exhaust surround recess cut???
my 172 came with a k-tec recessed exhaust, but the recess in the bumper had been cut in the wrong place, so the exhaust was always touching one side and looked naff. no amount of exhaust adjustment would fix it. i've re-cut the...
update: well, it's not the sensor. i cleaned everything up and the leak is still there. coverage isn't as bad but i still can't see where it's coming from. i'll remove the engine shield/cover tomorrow and see if i can get a better look. if not i'm guessing it's bumper off to remove the power...
the last car i grounded an amp in... i took the carpet out of the boot and there were some screw holes in the floor. i crimped a connector on the end of the ground wire with a hole in it big enough for a bolt. i got a nut, the bolt, and a star washer and bolted the cable into the boot floor. the...
take it back to them. i second the comment above, take the aux belt off as this will whittle it down alot. only thing i can think of is a loose bolt on the water pump has come out a bit and it catching as the pump goes round, and this could go bad very quickly. really need to get it back to them...
a trick i read somewhere- spray something (i think wd40) around the inlet pipes etc with the engine running. if the revs drop, you know you've hit a leak.
the key will have a chip in it that is "connected" to the immobiliser. if you don't get a key with the ecu then yes it'll need to be synchronized by the dealer, although i think third parties can do it cheaper.
it's an all in one unit, the siren contains the brains. there should be a load of wires going into it. you need to unscrew the triangular shaped piece of plastic on the side of the unit where the wires disappear into. this will allow you access to the plug. doesn't look like it's meant to be...
hmmm, the chap who's selling the 182 cup dampers has given me part numbers 8200342846 (now 820081125), i've just called renault with my chassis number and he's given me number 8200662257.
whenever i get this sort of situation i tend to remove the throttle body and hoses and connectors, clean them all up, make sure there's no splits, put it all back together and it just seems to work. done it twice now on two different cars. if it's close to cutting out when accelerating could...
