:S:) you're missing the point! you're not cutting the hazard light wire, you're cutting the alarm wire that sends the signal to the hazard lights. assuming the switch is good, the hazard lights will work fine. you mentioned the scuttle panel so you suspect the alarm may be water damaged. my...
there's not enough detail with that method. with vauxhalls the eml light will flash a sequence that gives you a four digit code, allowing you to identify the problem sensor and even the type of failure, example:
0120 - TPS circuit malfunction
0121 - TPS circuit range/performance problem
0122 -...
no don't. i had a vectra sri last year and it failed it's mot on broken front susp springs. came back with non sri spings. looked like it was doing a wheelie. wasn't a dealer, but just don't :)
is there a visual difference between the cup and ff dampers? i guess i can compare with the old ones...
on a couple of cars i've had you can do the 'paperclip test' where you join two terminals in the fault code plug and the eml light flashes a series of codes to indicate the fault.
is there any such trick with the clio?
i bought a 172 cup recently with engine light (emission one) on. looks like one of the wires to the lambda sensor needs sorting out. car runs fine at the moment so no rush to sort it out.
direct from renault at £49.78 each + vat looks the best bet, at least i can be sure of getting cup spec.
is there anything i should take a look at while the shocks are off? bushes? stuff like that.
dammit. ok. while on the subject of suspension/steering jom&terry, the handling is a bit wayward on slightly bumpy roads. visually the wishbone and arb bushes and tie rods look ok, and not much play if any at all in the steering. if i get my car tracked/aligned, would it then be a bad idea to...
I've got a policy with Kwik-Fit / Royal Sun Alliance with a declared exhaust mod. I've called them to ask if I can put a strut brace on (came with the car) and they said I would have to change insurers as Royal Sun Alliance will only insure a car with no more than one mod. Then they gave me...
battery is tight and right up against the black metal plate (looks like it holds the ecu?) battery is a bit longer than the one in this picture
when you say remove it and the acoustic valve, are you referring to the broken pipe you see in my original picture, and the big plastic box behind the...
yeah i've seen that price at kam racing. good price. i was referring to this mount though directly under the gearbox. looks shafted but i can't find any pics of what it SHOULD look like.
good point. i haven't taken anything out, didn't cotton on it was missing either. something else to put on the list for my next trip to the scrappy. i see you're in hook, i'm just down the road in farnborough.
hi, please see pic for info:
i'm wondering if something has been removed from the end of the resonator box pipe to allow a larger sized battery to be fitted? the pipe from the resonator box has been cut, but it could go to one of two holes. any suggestions?
thanks, kris
hi, i have a p/s leak but can't see where it's coming from, even with someone in the car using full lock. i pulled the plug off the sensor and it was full of fluid, but could be spraying from anywhere, just not anywhere obvious. any suggestions?
never seen a car without drop links, all i could find was this penis sized bush linking the anti-roll bar to what i assume is the lower wishbone. are these bushes the closest i'm gonna get to a drop link on a clio, and is it a good idea to swap these out if car is a little skittish on uneven...
I've been under the car and wiggled it about, used a screwdriver to put some force on it but didn't really move. Is this a poor way to test a bush/mount?
searching for info and came across this old thread. in case anyone else has this issue.... i had the problem and it was water in the alarm. a quick fix is to pull the hazard switch and trace the pink wire that connects to the back of the switch and you should find a black/white wire soldered...
