sorry to drag up an old thread, the pic above says to pull the engine towards the front of the car and there should be no gap where the arrows are, but surely if you pull the engine forward, you're going to increase the gap where the arrows are?
Re: Just fitted powerflex dogbone bushes, and NOW i get knocking on hard acceleration
the bracket was already all the forward, one of the small pins stopped it going any further. just to check what i'm aiming for, i want the rear bumper (on the right in the picture, not arrowed) to be up...
cheers, think it's slightly more at the top at the moment, but lower bolts are only 65nm at the moment. my wrench only goes upto 80nm, time to get the breaker bar out
i've read about people having the knocking sound under hard acceleration and replacing the dogbone bushes to fix the problem, but never the other way round!!
gear change is alot smoother now, but it's developed the knocking noise. is it a case of the now stiff dogbone bush has shown up a...
groovy, i'll just do the washers. when the chap came out with the washers it got me thinking if that's all anyone ever asks for. as to why replace the plugs, i think it must be something i did when i first started working on cars. perhaps i stripped the thread off one or rounded one out in a...
i've just got back from renault having called ahead to confirm they had both plugs in stock, and they don't. i even saw the guy i spoke to and he said he thought i just wanted the washers, even though i never mentioned them. which made me think, do people generally just replace the washers when...
lots of replies and help here, so thanks to all.
i don't know why i hadn't considered sanding it, but the crevices between each rim and spoke don't look too fun. something to consider though.
i might try oven cleaner. that stinks so it must be fairly strong :) and i already have it in the...
isn't the lambda sensor fault code sometimes a bit of a red herring? if a car is over-fuelling, the lambda will get coked up and give an error. i'm looking into this as my zafira has been stuttering a bit. it's not getting upto temperature, so i need to replace the thermostat. as it's running...
cheers all, i've got one of these to fit this weekend. i was gonna go big bit up top too, but now i shan't. i guess the big washers go on the gearbox end and not the subframe end?
is it just me or is that one in the pic completely shafted??
take it apart and refit it again. our zafira went a bit schizo once and would idle at 3k, and if it wasnt doing that it was stalling. i had to take the inlet off to fix another problem, cleaned it all up etc and put it back together, it's been fine since (touch wood).
or you could start...
check out opie oils website, some expensive stuff on there :)
were there any gaskets on the throttle body?
i did this to my vectra, but did the inlet manifold as well, pick up was definitely crisper. i'm just reluctant to touch anything that's not broken. although the pull of a crisper...
still not fitted them yet, busy weekend. i've read a few threads concerning the polyflex bushes (albeit from 2008) about people experiencing damaged gearboxes and the like from fitting these bushes. are they safe?
this sounds more severe than mine. i can rev to 3000rpm (dont wish go any higher at that temperature) and it doesnt feel like its about to stall.
someone mentioned its the lambda before the cat, i wonder if unplugging that lambda would make a difference?
when i disconnected the alarm i traced the wires and they run through the fuses in the fuse/relay box to the right of the battery, but the alarm has battery back up so i'm not sure if removing fuses will work.
once you remove the wiper assembly and gain access to the alarm box, you need to...
just a thought, i dont know if the alarm is linked to the uch, but if it is, and you're taking out uch fuses, that in turn would stop the alarm having any effect on the hazards
not sure if you're the chap i replied to in a previous thread above cutting wires....? :)
anyhoo, have you disconnected the alarm to see if this stops the hazard lights, that would be cheaper than anything :)
