My dogbone was knackered and it never squeeked. More of a banging under hard accelaration after 5k.
What about AUX belt. Tensioners seized or worn. When was it last done. Should be every 36k I think.
I sure Nick does. He can do coilovers caused I asked him so wouldn't of thought he would. I he is doing track cars he must be doing alignment and camber otherwise the cars wouldn't handle right.
Best bet is to ring though cause e-mail is a waste of time. Nice guy and always happy to chat...
Hillpower was too busy. Stealers wanted £246 not inc parts. Eurocars wanted £173 and most garage wouldn't give me a price or just didn't want to do it!
Anyway found this timing belt center on Porchester road, Nottingham. Did it for £120. Had to buy kit for £50 but think thats a good deal...
Engine mounts. Bottom dogbone especially around £58 off Hillpower. Top ones are cheaper. AUX belt £50 plus bout £120 labour.
Aircon can be leaky but good place will sort one out. I had new condenser £80 then a sealant added with regas. Think paid £150 in total.
Tried Hillpower he's too busy. Want my AUX belt changed Thursday or Friday. Anyone help? I'm willing to travel if I can wait for the work to be done. It REALLY needs doing and I'm starting to worry.
Tried Protune at Jacksdale and he wanted to take aircon apart and charge 5.5 hours
Tried...
What about AutoSmarts reglaze. Had good results with it myself. Don't particularily like not giving car a good rinse as the slightest bit of grit seems to damage my paint work but it's has got nuba in it so worth a shot.
Think I forget how much time my foot is on the floor with Vectra. Kinda like that turbo boost but doesn't compare to a light car with na engine.
Thing is when it's your Sunday car you treat it a bit more carefully but when you do let it roar it does and the 172 certainly does.
Still think I...
Oh right. I put some extra rubbers in the exhuast holder to stop it knocking. When I shake it, it doesn't squeek. Need the rubber bits in to stop it knocking.
If I spray it with WD40 would it be a temporary test to stop the squeek?
Ha ha. Like it. Nice metal Clio one of ebay maybe.
Good polish will make it look better than a lot of crap mods. Show is a picture now for ideas.
Ok here goes.
I took the parcel shelf off. The plastic panel off boot lid. Dropped seats forward and I can still hear a noticealbe skweek for rear of car. As go over speed humps it's most noticeable. Sometimes it's goes but always comes back.
Tried pulling things around rocking car etc and no...
Wheel is too big and too far away. Seat is too high aswell. Thought of changing wheel since it's a knackered ph1. I drive a Vectra Estate Diesal 2l all day all week and really look forward to driving mine.
The turbo on estate is good at low revs but if you rev the Clio it soon reminds you of...
Go cart feel never wears off. Depends what you do for most of your driving time. Could do with losing my missus half the time so can have some fun without her moaning.
Sorry but 'The soft springs make it more peaceful' makes me think you should be driving a 1.2 all the time.
I drive a Vectra Estate 2.0 Turbo Diesal all week and can't wait till the fun of my 172 at the weekend and it still seem a little slow at times!
I got a stealthed stainless steel exhaust from ETS. I know the guy there and he did it for £250. Should of been £300. Love the sound. Very impressed.
Don't know if thats any help just thought I mention it. Originally went to Scorpion cuase they do good exhuast but weren't willing to do a...
Heard some places sell fuel with +100 octane but 2.42 a litre!!!!!!!
I get BP Ultimate and it's 0.99. Went to another BP other day and it was 1.039 and I thought that was expensive!
