Yeah. Can't afford the Swisswax. Maybe will get the Megs Glaze now and some Poorboys Blue or Collinite. Not sure. Collinite is supposed to last well or would I be better with Megs 80 since got rotary.
Oh thanks for replying Rich.
Yeah I realise you need wax over glaze. Just wondered wether a good glaze under current wax would make a better combo than a good wax. Since AutoSmart Gold Wax contain carnuaba which is what the expensive ones contain.
Ok I've so far:
Washed
Clayed
Washed again and dried with some QD
SRP
EGP
Carnuaba
Only think is the carnuaba is AutoSmarts that I erm aquired and I don't think I rate it. Car looked it's best after SRP I think. Also got some Autosmart Reglaze. It ain't bad for a really quick wet look but...
Ok I've changed dogbone on ph1 172 and the knocking has gone when hit 5k in first.
Only problem left is if I am pulling out of a junction and the road is a bit uneven. I put my foot down and as it struggles for grip I get a knocking sound from engine bay on drivers side.
Before the knocking...
Noise comes from nearside footwell? Mine did and got a dogbone from HillPower and problem solved. 10 mins to fit.
If it seems to happen as the car nearly looses traction (worse in wet) or when you slam it in gear at speed then it probably if the dogbone. Not too expensive if you fit it yourself.
What!?! The engines are great. Yeah some rattles and standard problems but come on. Seen Willys do well over 150k.
Might be poor build quality at times but 70k is nowt on a modern engine.
Your will need the 5" backing plate for the Megs pads.
They are on ebay and cheaper than the pads. All depends on how far you wanna go but check detailingworld.co.uk. Search for Silverline.
The pads that come with it are ok but then again I thought it was ok to wax with a old terry bedsheet...
Blue one is cheaper and not much difference.
Just get a 5" backing plate and some Megs pads (about £10.99 off ebay)
Be carefull with rotary if you don't know what your doing. Visit detailworld.co.uk for advice or see Rich.
I'm on 105k and all seems fine.
Renault FSH. Heard of Willy doing well over 150k. End of day if engine is looked after mondern 16v engines just go an go.
Not like old engines that get rattly and boll*xs after 100k.
Mine sounds fine and power is deff there. Got 139mph out of it other...
I've got a Megs Smooth Paint Clay kit which you can buy off me for £20 if you want. BNIB
I've used clay on mine for first time. Like Rich says it don't make your car shiny but after applying a few coats of SRP and it looks great. Makes wax application lot nicer cause paint is so smooth. Also...
Tried claying and still same. Tried T-Cut/Acid/SRP/EGP any more suggestions. Don't want to refurb just one cause of colour match and can't have car off road at min to do all of them.
My mate used to be a valeter and he has used polishers before after putting compound on cars.
He must of had plenty of practice and said to me himself it's the plastic and edges you have to watch.
Maybe I'll go for the second one. We are gonna try it first on his van anyway! It has had a...

I've used it. Takes some of the whiteness off the chip so it doesn't stand out but will then need sealing with EGP
To be honest the colour isn't the same and the chips still look bad.
Yeah.
Thought of maybe getting a polisher. My friend wants one. If three of us go in on getting one then maybe but money is tight wit us all at min.
Whats cheapest half decent polisher we could get?
I've just had to buy a new fog light since one shattered on motorway!
Now the new one gleams and looks great and now the other one and the headlights look crap. What can I do to improve the look of them (glass polish or something) without just buying new ones!
Well not exactly ten miles. I mean it seems to fade away after a bit. Like the boot has settle into position or something.
It's still there but no where near as bad.
Might be the rubbers. You could adjust them on my last car till the boot was quite loose or really tight.
Anyway if I open boot then drive off (after shutting it obviously) I hear this rubbing squeaky sound that last for about ten miles. What do I adjust tighten to fix this rattle.
So far...
Looked miles away as flashed em. No stickers but was like seeing my car go past so though would put a spotted up. First black ph1 I've seen since buying mine (on the road.)
