    I'd like to lose the standard bus steering wheel for a 330mm, I quite like the RS sabelt or sparco but not sure the suede will stand up to my usage. Not keen on the idea of a polyurethane one really although the OMP GP looks ok, any other recommendations?

    Always thought this too, they weren't limited colours as far as I'm aware, just less popular with the punters. Also what I enjoy more is driving my 172 not looking at it, the more miles on it the better value for money I've had.

    I must have got lucky every time I've changed them, spanner on, good smack with a big hammer, job done! Plugging the plug in is probably the awkwardness part on the floor

    I wouldnt be so worried about mileage as long as it's been well cared for, look at @Coops Mk1 RB for example, it's been the moon and back but is immaculate

    Is proof reading too much to ask? Seat belts are Ebay blue rather than the darker Williams too.

    @AndyPembs182 DAS 6 pro, I bit the bullet this summer and got one should have done it years ago. Definitely get a small 3" backing plate as you'll need it for many of the smaller panels like wings. I spent ages deciding which pads and compounds to get but ended up with 5.5" hexlogics in white...

    I just left my 172 idling on my drive to try and dry a fogged headlight out, all of a sudden the idle jumped to 3k rpm with an engine management light on. Any ideas what's caused this, I'll check for a leak on the inlet first though.

    @DaveL485 This is a great read, keep the updates coming! Does Hydrate 80 do a good job of holding rust back? I need to treat some rust where the rear beam mounts to the body on my 172, I'd rather not take the whole beam off just to get good enough access to Deox gel it.
