    Removing headlight level motors?

Theres a little tab on the left in that pic that a lug on the motor clips into. Can be seen on the right, the motors are universal

    Anyone going on long drives?

How does cancelling work out, I've been thinking the same with mine as I've just sorn it in these financially uncertain times. I'm with Greenlight on a mirrored no claims policy.

    Titanium MrBlonde

Nice work, it all looks very clean around the rear beam and brake hose bracket, surprises me how varying they can be with corrosion. Mines in dire need of a strip down and paintinv. Its killing me seeing people crack on with projects at the moment.

    Knock sensor

I cant answer your question but my knock sensor plug is in a sorry state and barely connecting to the sensor. I'm not sure the purpose of the sensor but doesnt seem to affect running.

😖 I did it thinking it wasn't going to rain which it didnt until that night. Is that reversible?

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Not so sure mate, I find a car clean can be depressing as it's when I get a closer look at all the defects and think 'what am I doing piling money into this heap' I still carry on though😂

    C4 gone wrong

A few weeks back I began treating all back plastics on my 172 but after they have cured the more heavily textured plastics like wing mirror edges and mounts have almost white/grey colouration in the textured dimples. Can I simply scrub clean dry and retreat of is a more radical approach required?

Unimpressed by 182, what do you love about it?

Removing the seats is just 4x nuts under the car, 2 behind round rubber grommets and 2 through holes in the heat shield. The inner ones without grommets I found to be a bit tricky due to corrosion but a bit of plusgas and their off. Lift the seat up and lever out the plastic spacers in the...

Unimpressed by 182, what do you love about it?

Thankfully I'm only 5' 7" I think so the seat height is less of an issue for me, I have taken the spacers out under the bases to lose probably another 12mm

Why is this worth so much?

I just wouldnt sell, after all this prices will bounce back. Optimism at its finest!

Why is this worth so much?

Exactly, even if things get desperate theres no point me even contemplating selling my car or bike right now, be better off holding out until things improve and sell for half sensible money then. I'll only be buying them back in the future anyway

Why is this worth so much?

If this keeps up it wont be long before I accept!

Why is this worth so much?

50p and a 12 pack of toilet roll? It is flame red after all!

Why is this worth so much?

I cant see any car selling for top dollar right now nor would I consider selling one currently given the financial situation. My 172 is probably currently worth the same as the change I found down the side of the footwell carpet - 32p

What have you done to your car today ???

It was missing the one rear fixing entirely, I dont think it had been there for a long time, not even a bolt in the rail

What have you done to your car today ???

Got the chance to finish fitting a new battery tray today after I noticed mine had one of the mounts snapped off. It's made a noticeable difference the the gear change and power delivery seems sharper, it had been moving around a lot going by the wear mark's.

    Cleaning cast Aluminium

Cheers mate, I just gave it a scrub under the tap. Only a battery tray so not really seen

    Cleaning cast Aluminium

Short of vapour blasting or similar is there anything I can use to clean up the white corrosion on cast alloy parts? The parts I want to clean are too fiddly to rub down with fine wire wool or auto sol really, I wondered if vinegar or a similar acid would work.

Dont later mk2 Clio campus come with the newer style Renault badge, see quite a few of them around on 07 and Im sure Ive even seen 08 plates. Did they run them alongside the mk3 for a while?

    Battery tray mounting

Ive always thought the hole in it is very sloppy considering the bolt size. Theres no thread in the turret on mine like it's been ripped out, just a big ass bolt going through into the arch
