finance to buy a set of wheels? Is this serious? For a start buying a set of brand new wheels is going to cost a fortune. Why not just buy a nice set of second hand wheels whihc will cost a fraction of the price?
mate, you are wasting your time! That is a complete un-serviceable part. All it takes is 1 little connector or component to die and thats it. Just replace the base.
Could have disturbed the dephaser perhaps....Why on earth would you not change the Aux kit! Saving money on these sort of things will in the long run end up costing you a fortune when your engine eats itself! lesson learned?
I got it from someone who was breaking a 172 paid £5. I reckon Renault will pull your pants down. Best bet is to find someone on here breaking a car and ask them if the signal was all good before they broke it and hope for the best!
Just got in the car and for some reason my brake pedal switch and some random purple connector were hanging down! I put the brake pedal switch back in but don't have a clue what this purple connector that is in the same part of the loom is for?!
:S I actually gave it a few fairly hard cracks with the lump hammer and bolster and couldn't get it to shift even 1mm! it would spin and turn but just need shift off! As I said I didn't want to go mental on it in case I left myself stranded with a broken shock!
PMSL! Get rid of those carbs and dizzy! 1.8T FTW! (I dont have a clue if this is a "possible" fit or not, but please drop something epic in there!)
How much did you pay for the car?
You need a new aerial base on the roof, I had same problem. Swapped mine the other day, perfecto now. The base has a signal booster or something in it (electronic) which dies and causes s**t signal. Basically you drop the headlining undo 1 nut and disconnect 2 wires and it will lift off the...
LOL! I was going to go chicken oriental on it with a club hammer and bolster but it decided against this in case I f**ked the old shock beyond use and still couldn't get it off leaving me with a jacked up car missing a shock lol. So are you saying it should come off? I think I am just going to...
Does the rubber mount/washer type thing ontop of the shock come off? I have a set of replacement shocks that have no mount on the top but when I took my old shock off the car I couldn't remove it to swap it over? Any ideas?
From memory the upper inlet has 4 or 5 bolts at the front and 2 or 3 across the back near the coil. Its very easy to remove, I have done it numerous times on my old 172 Mk1 in a matter of minutes. You will need to unplug a few electrical connections first though.
Let us know if the new...
