Put 4 T1R on my 172 last month. Very good tyre for little money. In my opinion perform equally well as michelins but may not have the endurance. But then i did only pay £28 each ( 195/50 15 ) from camskill.
mine did precisely this 12 months ago. it gradually got worse over time but took several months to finally give up. replaced it myself with a valeo clutch from ECP £100. comes with bearing and alignment tool. i did it myself by pulling the motor..
was it losing water ? catastrophic headgasket failure , bores filled with water ?
did the headlights work ? alternator becomes disconnected, battery goes flat, starter wont turn ...........
actually not much will stop a motor turning over. even if the cranked was trying to weld itself to the...
sorry to say but if its big end you are looking at a big bill. surely if it was big ends you would have heard something major, did it sound like a diesel ?
if big ends have gone so suddenly then it must have been a catastrophic failure of the oil system. did you have any lights ?
have they...
i would like to rescue this. from the ad it looks like the box has failed. problem is i guess its worth more in parts. fixing the box is a straighforward job for someone with a little skill. i did the clutch on mine last year.
wonder if my sunflower has the highest mileage ? currently at 118K...
I dont hold with this 'must go to a specialist ' line of thinking. There are some exceptional independent garages that are equally good at this work and competively priced too.
Ultimately though you pay your money you take your chances.... Just be sure they have the kit and dont rely on the...

What colour ?
with sportlines fitted is it necessary to change the geometry from standard ? do the wheels catch on anything when running lower spings ? question in relation to A phase 1 172....
I was also concerned with undoing the subframe as i had heard horror stories of the clips coming off the back of the captive nuts inside the chassis. So took the motor out the top. 3 hrs first time didnt think that was too bad .....
I did mine myself. Clutch release bearing collapsed at 108K on my phase 1. I was quoted £250 by Mr Clutch in Northampton, they use a relined clutch which in this day and age is absolutely mental. Other quotes were upto £1000........
I opted to do it myself and lifted the motor out complete with...
My 172 did it for several months before the release bearing finally collapsed ( it had done 100K and in a 172 thats good going ).
If you have a 172 then start saving ( £400+ fitted ) ! As i see you have a 1.2 i doubt its too big an issue....
could make your own quite easily. instead of holes could use a blade for more adjustment. just need some bushing material and get the bar bent on one end...
i bought my sunflower 3 yrs ago at 88K for 2300. one owner from new and full renault history. bit of dodgy paintwork on the door where it had been keyed but hey ho its now over 10 yrs old. interior and rest of bodywork still comes up good.
only issue so far was a new clutch last year...
needs...

Look very cheap for stainless....
On way home tonight had the blower on full. Arrived home and the fan will not turn off. Even removing the key the fan still runs. Had to disconnect the battery to stop it. Will check in the morning.
Any ideas ?
