Have a Clio 1.2 which is fitted with an electric rack. When driving straight ahead it feels to have a 'high spot' ! The effect is that is seems to be very sensitive to road surface. Can only describe at a bit 'vague' .... The tracking has been checked and all is good. Tyres are good with no...

    Gearbox Issue.....Again..

When my clutch went the guy at renault talked me out of the Elf box oil. They only sold it out of a lrge drum. I went and bought some valvoline box oil. Works perfectly and was cheap ( £10 filled the box ). I recall it is specific for french boxes, Renault and Peugeot. Cant recall the...

    Changing Clutch, removing parts help!

Yep thats the one. Mine got quite badly chewed when the release baring went poop. I undidi the bolts but couldnt shift it. Unbeknown to me i had managed the pop the seal off the back of it. Not too bad on my phase 1 as it just refits with a new sleeve. Apparently on a phase 2 the box needs...

    Gearbox Thrust Bearing ?

You will see the importance of the bolt when you put the box back on. Allows you to locate the piggin thing while you break your back trying to lift it into place. Feeling strong ???

    Gearbox Thrust Bearing ?

what ever you do dont losen the flange around the input shaft to the box. I did and it spewed all the box oil out over the nice new shiny clutch :( By moving it i had popped the seal off the back of the flange. Fortunately on a Phase 1 172 box it pushes back in. Apparently with a later box...
