Is the 172 Cup dash a lighter color than the normal 172/182's? A guy at work has just got a nice 172 and i swear has dash is more black where mine is more grey.

I dont know if it'll be the backbox itself but rather the sound is travelling through it, i dont know?? Defo sounds like mine is coming from that area, so i've been under there and made sure everything is as it should be but still does it :(

Sod that, ATS has done me proud and done an oil (shell helix fully synthetic) and filter change for £35. Dont care much for dealer stamps, whenever i've looked at buying a car i'm happy if there are recipts for regular oil changes.

I get a squeek/whistle at high revs in all gears from 5k onwards, wasnt sure where it was coming from until i took the rear seats out and now i'm sure its coming from the exhaust. Still cant figure it out though :(

TBH i dont think washers will solve creaking issues, try taking the top cap off and dropping some oil in there.

At the minute the height is dependant on the Clios steel shaft inside my sleeve, you 'could' hacksaw the steel shaft down and custom make a shorter aluminium gear lever to suit. But at the minute i'll be concentrating on levers that are a direct swap for the original item, just to make things...

Been very busy this week at work unfortuanatly but i have been working on V2.0, which should be a little quicker and easier to make (and look a bit better too), when its done i'll post it up here and go from there.

The cage was very hard to find, had wanted ads up on all the forums i could think of for ages.

Sport replica using genuine parts, would look smart in that color. Then when you come to sell it you should get a fair bit (if its done nicely) as it should appeal to people who cant quite insure a sport.

Well i'm thinking it dosnt matter if the end of the shaft is forced to rotate centrally, as thats the effect you would get with solid top mounts anyway? I dunno??

The larger diameter wont fit all the way down into the bottom rubber part of the mount, the smaller diameter is just clearance.
