Clio182mad if you join as a member theres a long thread in the guides section (members only) explaining a lot about buying a 172, a lot of its the same.

Can't believe the amount of cars some of you lot have had! Got a 1.4RT when I was 17, wicked little car, couldn't kill the engine, and that got some serious abuse, so just crashed it instead, absoloutely gutted but I wouldn't have got the DCI if I didn't.
Thats no lie, my mates had 215K on it...
Depends what your after, most people don't push stock to the limit anyway so assume they need a better setup, they're more than enough really.
I'd get standard discs & uprated pads/standard pads.
I'd try a long 3/8 Extension with a long 10mm socket on the end, using a u/j if you need to, and take it off. If the u/j is flapping around too much, put a bit of electrical tape round it, so it bends slightly. Should be able to get it up there going above the exhaust.
Would be loads easier...
Speak to Russ on here hes done it along with a few others.
You might want to get this plastic trim if you do, would make it look neater although you can bodge a bit of filler and get it sprayed.

I was thinking similar, undo the engine mounts, swing on the engine and re-tighten the bolts work?? Bearing in mind I haven't seen any 182 Turbos let alone worked on, so dunno.
