After a mental week of work we seem to have an abundance of dead/dying engines.
Spot the number of engines in the following image of our incredibly untidy workshop.
A correct answer choosen at random will recieve a Wispa bar (not a duo - just a cheapo one ;))
Tip - they may not be all in...
Boys and girls. It's not being used for surface area increase, it is being used to give plenty of room up top for runner length and a proper filter / airbox. The jenvey kit needs longer runners over the AT equivalents for good torque, around 320mm is ideal. The rad provides the clearance. And it...
Image is deceiving.
Stock rad core: 16" x 20" =320 sq"
New rad core: 13"x 26" = 338 sq"
= 5.6% increase in total surface area. I'll examine the core in more detail when I collect the car.
Re: Dave.'s Trumpeted Engine Spec, Cammed Up Gunit, 2118'd Carbon obsession
F doesn't work late. He just sits in the middle of the workshop until the small hours of the morning surrounded by a years worth of mechanical detritus with fish and chips in one hand, and a laptop with a smashed screen...
It's wide, but not tall. Not a huge increase in surface area of stock.
Yes, the plastic outer casing are off and it is going to have a alloy box section with a take off either end.
No, you cross them over, so one front and one rear goes the rear calipers, the remaining front and remaining rear goes to the front calipers. I'll pop a drawing up asap. It's great fun moving between the thread types *rollseyes*
Sorry, I'm ordering my windows etc on Thursday.
While I was over there today I also measured up the radiator:
The plastic outer fittings prevent it from dropping down onto the subframe, but to give you some idea it measure 3-4 inches shorter in height and is nice and wide. I'm going to...
Popped over to see Mike (not the grinder wheeling car breaker Mike) at lunch time to progress with the cage fitment.
He specalises in entire chassis builts for sillhouette racers and hot rods, only a young chap/one man band but extremely talented. Makes a lot of lovely exhaust manifold systems...
Look here you Jessies, technically that is ok as it isn't self-detailing - which I declare as being the gayest form of detailing.
The car now looks like this: http://jmstuning.co.uk/Forum%20Images/182%20Images/71.jpg lol!
Detailing is so sh1t. (but I can appreciate the amount of effort you are putting into keeping it tidy)
anyway.. I hear brilliant things about these little motors, can you describe it in a single sentence for me as an all round owners exp?
Clio stuff looks good too eh?
As I say, it may well have improved, but my experiences with the Clio kits will always keep me wary. How much was the kit (what price point)
But Gaz still manufacture them. The adjustment tabs at the top of the coilover on the clio kit look like they have been made with a file by a man in a shed somewhere. Most clio kits seem to fill up the top mounts with shock oil at some point. Just disgusting build quality frankly. Can't comment...
