I know! I worked in the materials engineering dept at Brunel for a period assisting the guys developing the process / new applications for it including implant protection, wear reduction and refraction & reflection. Amazing stuff.
'easier to do'
In theory nothing changes in terms of the engines potential output no matter how much aux looses you place on it. (although load does effect the engine in the real world.)
Look at it this way - the aux components 'consume' power, preventing it from reaching the wheels. Remove...
It's the same measured effect as if you had the brakes on, it requires effort to rotate the various aux pumps etc, effort which is subtracted from the eventual output at the cars wheels.
Christ that looks like a b*****d to work in!
Consider enlarging the holes in the trumpets to allow a little movement, however you want to be careful as it would be very easy to end up with a trumpet misaligned on the port.
Plan b would probably be to remake the base plate.
The diff uses the stock crown wheel which will be machined to fit. The box rebuild will be done by Agency, as per all of our transmission work.
Going to leave the final drive as it is.
Yes all it needs is a can to serial adapter. The TDF F4R loom does not include the oil based sensors I want, so the simplest way to achieve that data set is to use the RT stuff. Not a problem.
Yah, possibly a data logger too, although that may be in 2012.
Gone with a selection of readily calibrated sensors for the dash 2 for data on oil temps / pressure etc. Hopefully it will keep the engine safe when the F3 RS dry sump decides it doesn't like being used on a clio lol! I'm just going...
Indeed Brian....
Si, those who want proper gear I suspect. I don't pretend to even begin to understand motorsport automotive electronics, i'll need a crash course when I pick up the kit next week lol!
We've got some ideas, I put up some drawings later.
This is the angle Andrew is referring to:
It effectively means that the centre of the outlet sits at 35mm above the lowest point of the sump.
Had a sort out earlier and scrapped/put up for sale a lot of the bits that will never get used...
AC wise you can either move across to cup setup, or use a a PMS aircon delete kit.
Cage wise it depends entirely on your budget, do you want a bolt in pre painted one - or get it made to fit the car, and then paint the entire interior? Do you want it to be permanent or removable in a couple of...
