Aligned the car? Don't be daft....that blatantly never happened either.
It ruined a nearly new pair of Toyos because of it as well.
It now has a correct pair of front shocks on it and now needs two new tyres on so I can get the geo sorted.
Twas a Ktec special Gal.
No Dave they were supplied AND fitted. I KNEW something was up. Well......it was pretty obvious. At least 2 degrees POSITIVE camber kinda gives the game away.
That and the fact it was knackering front tyres....
Part number geeks need only apply to answer this one.
Two front shock absorbers, both Renault (KYB) and both supposedly for a PH1 172 but both with differing part numbers, albeit one digit out.

Which is the correct one for the car?
Must say I'm chuffed for Nick on what his punched out.....not bad for an old German barge.
Also saw some rather nice wagons parked up down the road when we went for a warm up blat.
Well look at it this way, whatever it has on it currently is giving it positive camber.
They definitely aren't Renault branded anywhere i can see, where as the Renault ones I have are very obviously branded!
Proof of the pudding will be in the eating I suspect.
Indeed Nick....Karl sorted me a...
Just been sifting through his paperwork. Found the receipt from Ktec dated October last year. Lists two front shocks @ £49.00 each.
SMC Renault have just delivered me a pair @ net price £29.00 each + VAT.
So they did put on a pair of non genuine shocks are charged out the same as Renault list...
Well i'm not sure if the previous owner was even aware that they were non genuine. Was a 'non forum user' type but the car was always serviced at Ktec under his ownership.
I rang up and ordered a pair of genuine Renault ones today....£29 + VAT each. Was shocked they were that cheap TBH.
My brother bought his PH1 with a stack of history and receipts at the tail end of last year. Car is in pretty good shape barring some odds and sods but it would appear it is wearing positive camber on the front. Not only that but it has pretty much ruined the inside edge of what were a nearly...
Harris can irritate me sometimes. Not all the time, just when he harps on about the greatest cars being those that he can go sideways lots in.
But in this case he's a hero for having taken out £100k in finance just so he can say he's owned one.....even if its not for that much longer....£1280...
Why is everyone saying in needs to go lower? Wheels fill the arches perfectly, it doesn't look jacked and to slam it yo would just ruin the ride.
Looks good as is IMO.
That will repair. Labour intensive for sure but as Gally has said, its better than putting a new quarter on it. We've just repaired one on an Impreza STi which I thought would never repair nicely and it was way worse than yours.
Came out really well.....then again the panel beater we have is...
