Its not a real world test. Its only 600ft in total (a mile is 5280ft) for a start! Nevermind they are uniform corners which dont exisit in the real world and supercars are not about blasting down an A road. You would expect smaller nibbler cars to perform better at this type of test.
I would guess the weight saving is probably equal to the weight of a passenger(depending on size lol). So in performance will at a guess vary as much as having two people in your car to just having you in the car. ie not much, but worth it if you're looking for every fraction of a second on a track.
Nice read, not too sure about your transition into over steer though. More likely poor application of the accelerator, as when your grip goes you'll be under steering in a Clio.
