My 172 is an excellent handling car, and thats coming form a previous 205 rallye owner, my only gripe handling wise is that the steering isnt very talkative but then again its power assisted. I love it, the new 205 in my book!! How can a car with ABS, EBD, ESP, 4 air bags and all the other...
My mates old mk2 golf did this loads but his top mounts were knackered and a nice banging noise came with it but he didnt care, its due to the rubber doughnut at the top mount of the strut assembly, it could be worn if loads of movement takes place. Wear can normaly be seen by the mount sticking...

Who was it that was on here a while ago saying they were developing a kit for the 172 that churned out 220bhp, or there abouts without changing the exhaust? I remember they were being very secretive about it. Think they also said the price of the kit was around £1500.
The hiss you hear from an ecotec is air actually being sucked in, supposed to aid atomisation of fuel which is b****cks and can make your engine run worse or lean!!
It takes ages to set up on a rolling road because the standard ECU cant control the throttle bodies, so one has to be programed to suit the engine spec. It has to set for different engine loads, revs, engine temp etc etc takes ages, unless roamer gave u a copy of his map which i very much doubt...
Have never had the ABS kick in on mine, have had te ESP kick in though and that really pissed me off!!! Its like going out with the missus proper spoils your fun!!!
its the flap that lets air into the engine, on a normal car there is one flap which lets air into a plenham (sp?) chamber. Throttle bodies are like carbs but more modern, using fuel injectors
Howdy i need a couple of tyres on my 172 and am thinking about these, they have had wicked reviews in the past and are quite cheap from mytyres.co.uk anyone have any experience of them on a 172?
can you not get a mechanics report take it down the cop shop that bacon roll is from and tell him to stick his boredom up his arse and to go do his job rather than wasting everyones time.
