They do some very good prices for the trade tbh. My mate is in charge of the parts department at the local halfords so I can get him to put things through at trade prices for me :).
You could always tell them that the engine in the car came out of a J-reg mk1 and they then have to test it according to the standards that would have been set at the time iirc, which means no need for a cat ;)
Well I know mine definately has the williams starter motor. It might be to do with the megane flywheel on yours as I know those who put the megane bottom end on their valvers change the megane flywheel to the valver one as theres some sort of problem with the megane one. With regards the mount...
Thats all pretty much correct but no need to change the starter motor. My hybrid is running a 172 cup gearbox but it was on it when I bought it. You need to use a 172 gearbox mount though and it needs to be modified slightly to get it to fit, not entirely sure of what need to be modified on it...
Yeah, probably around the bulkhead in that case? Try asking over on retro-renault.co.uk or williamsclio.co.uk as I'm pretty sure it was on one of them I read about it before, probably RR.
It will probably have been routed wrongly. I don't know exactly where it is but there is somewhere around the bulkhead they tend to break if not routed correctly iirc. I've not done one myself though so can't help in telling you how it should be routed.
Pretty much all the clios I've driven, including my current hybrid which has a 172 gearbox, do it if you try to put it in too quick. To avoid it I just put it in second then reverse.
If you are looking for someone to do the work for you ask Chris_H on retro-renault.co.uk. He's a mechanic through in glasgow and I've never heard anything but good things about his work tbh.
It is, I remember him posting up before to say it was. When this was on ebay about 6/7 months ago I wanted to buy it but for one reason or another couldn't at the time - looks really nice though.
I've thought that as well. If money was no object I'd love to buy a Mk1 shell etc and build it up like brand new with most things upgraded. The thing that has me wondering about this one was that I know renault no longer sell Mk1 shells as it was discussed recently over on WC. If it is true...
Do a search, its been asked loads andI can't be bothered typing out another long reply, lol. Its fairly straightforward and you can re-use a lot of bits. However, unless you can do all the work yourself or your RT has had a lot of money put into it I would tend to say go for a valver as they...
Nice one, I can guarantee they are fun with that sort of power ;). I would have thought it would be a little more power than 180 though give what some others are getting? Do you know what spec the cams are? are you running a standard ECU at first?
I remember seeing the engine coming up for...
Probably the ignition module or the crank sensor from what you said, I presume there is no spark at the king lead given what you have changed?
If you have a multimeter check the voltage across the crank sensor it should be around about 250ohms iirc.
If you can get at it cut the cambelt - I find this does a good job of making sure it won't start. ;)
Seriously though I reckon the TDC sensor or fuel pump is the best option, though I would tend to agree that you should just tell her you won't give her a lift, lol.
My mum works partly from home and partly from her office and has just had one of the bt business hubs put in at her office and had the software for it installed in her laptop. The BT hub and wireless internet work fine from her work but it now won't allow her to access the wireless internet we...
Yeah, thats a fair point. I just meant in terms of replies like saying that the engine won't last long if you take it to 6000rpm as that is misleading imo as rev limiters are put in to stop damage. If it was going to damage the engine taking it up there every now and then they would have...
I can't believe how little some people push their cars. Mine regularly hits over 6000rpm, infact almost everytime its warmed up I can't resist, lol. Taking it to that sort of revs will do NO DAMAGE as long as you have warmed the engine up. I'm not saying to sit at 6000rpm all the time but if...
I've seen this car in the metal and I have to say that imo the pics don't do it justice. I was surprised at how much I liked it with it being a ghey mk2 ;)
