I don't know about a 19 16v ECU tbh but as richy says a Ph1 ECU is the best/easiest option to sort any imobiliser issues as it simply doesn't use the imobiliser.
I'll have a quick look underneath when I'm swapping the wheels back if you want sam to see if I can spot where its coming from. Like edde says though a tiny drop of oil in water spreads loads and can look like a lot more than it is.
Hope they get the prick.
My unlce bought a Mercedes E-class and ran it for 2 years with the wrong number plate as the dealership put an F instead of an E on the plate - as he didn't have to get it MOT'd or anything as it was brand new he never even knew. He only found out when he went back...
If the fork is moving as it should then your probably as well just changing the clutch. Other possibilities could be the pivot bush or the release bearing but any of them would need the box to come of anyway so might as well put in a new clutch while you have the box off. The new clutch would...
Spotted a trophy in Currie about 10 minutes ago. It was parked right behind me and I know whoever it was saw my hybrid as they went back to their car as I was going back to mine.
Looked nice, I have to say I do quite like trophys.
Yeah they have flyers, someone should have a link showing what they are like. Though there is a total lack of Mk1's on them :nono: .
There is also a space for people to write their username on it so they know who left it but it was blank on mine.
I can try but as I say I don't think mine will be correct because the 172 box uses a longer clutch fork iirc so my measured travel would be greater. I'll have a go and post it up anyway though. Try asking over on WC and someone should be able to tell you I would think, or at least advise if...
imo about 2.5k+, though it really does depend on what the difference between tpft and fully comp is. At the moment mines is only tpft but I will probably go fully comp when renewal time comes round.
If I were you I would go to APD (http://www.ap-developments.com/) based in swansea iirc. The owner is on the forum (stan*) and tbh I've not heard a bad word against him, and from what I can gather his prices are very good.
Thats fine, just give me a shout when you know when your going to take it in for its MOT and I can pop them on for you. You might have to keep yours on the front though as I think one of mine has a nail through it which would fail, but I'll have a look at that and let you know.
Yup it looks to be right. As said above you would need to remove the starter motor to see teh rest of the veins but you can jsut see one of them to the right edge of the starter motor.
Ask over on retro-renault.co.uk as I've heard over there about some common problem with second gear before and a lot of boxes were missing some sort of part inside the box. IIRC they can go on for ages like that but as I say if you do a search over there it should show something.
I don't know exactly what would be the cause but it would suggest that your clutch isn't the problem but something to do with the pedal/ cable. I'm not saying it'll show anything 100% but it's certainly where I would start.
I can't take a pic just now but found an old one that kind of shows the gearbox and cable, though not very well its the best I can do for now.
The pic looks down over the gearbox and the bit in red is the clutch cable and the bit in yellow is a kind of rubber gaiter. If you have a look you...
I would check first that its not the ratchet on the pedal or something similar. Try and mesure the travel of the clutch fork when you press the cable and then others can say what theirs is so you can compare. I would post up pics to explain what I mean but I don't have time so hopefully...
Somone must have spotted my hybrid today (white with anthractie williams wheels) as when I came out from my work there was a cliosport flyer under my wiper, lol. My work is down at hermiston gait in Edinburgh btw.
So, who was it?
100% correct. By law car manufacturers have to fit them from the factory but as soon as it has left the factory it doesn't matter if it has it or not as long as it passes an emissions test. It does seem kind of stupid but thats the way it is.
Really the best bet is to have a nice J-Reg Clio...
Just to clear it up having a decat IS NOT NECESSARILY ILLEGAL. Legally all cars post some point in 1992 iirc had to come with a cat from the factory, however cars DO NOT have to have a cat by law thereafter, it is only legally required that the manufacturer fits one. It does have to pass an...
Imo much better to go for a 172 engine as it would be more straightforward. If, however, you want to go for a valver engine and are considering tuning it go for a williams engine as it really isn't worth throwing money at a valver lump as it doesn't respond anywhere near as well as the williams...
As long as you are fairly handy with a spanner its not too bad. Just take your time to it and you'll be fine. Also, I would think you wouldn't have to completely remove the box from the engine bay to do the clutch - though I haven't worked on a 172 so can't say for sure. If you do have to remove...
An absolute bugger that it happened, but at least it wasn't worse as a lorry going into the back of you could easily have crushed you between your car and the traffic in front.
I believe that Hill power do quite a bit for the 1.4, though the poster above me would be the best person to ask ;). You can get quite good gains from the 1.4 tbh if you were to do some heardwork as well as cams and re-map. Chris_H over on retro-renault managed to get 13bhp extra, iirc, from a...
