Gave her a quick once over on the ramp before i tuck her away in the workshop at work over christmas.

Power steering pump is a nightmare. Engine out job! If your changing column might be best to drop the engine off the subframe then you can get the column undone and do the pump.
There was a lad on here complaining about similar syptoms and he thought it was the head gasket, turned out to be something else. His user name is patrick_g46. Give him a message see what he says.

Its entirely up to you what you want to do obviously, but that great big heaving engine will weigh the front end down and ruin the fantastic handling. Bad idea imo.:dapprove: But hey what do i know!
Ive had relatively no preblems with mine. If you get one thats been looked after you'll be fine. You want to look for things such as:
- Rusting arches and sills
- Leaking sunroof
- Gearbox (some can be weak, check for crunching and ease of engaging gears)
- Rough idling, splutering, cutting...
