I see what you mean, but I've been driving for over 10 years now myself, the clio is by no means the quickest most powerful car I've ever owned (or driven) I too like to concentrate on the road so I hardly ever have the radio on, except like you said in traffic.
I do think though (from...
ouch! hope it all gets sorted to your approval.
Just got to see what you'll be getting for a replacement while the work is being done. probably double ouch :) !
I do agree with some of that but if I get you right, it sounds like you are saying that you should test your limits on a public road :nono: to justify a faster car.
You may be a decent driver (but then you think a dci is better than a 1.6 :) ) not everyone is so testing a cars limits on a...
You could polish the raised lettering, I think this detail would stop it looking like a big black block.
It looks ok but I'm more into big v8's etc for general look when you open the bonnet (unfortunatly not going to see one of them in a clio...) but it takes all sorts I suppose.
I dont know if you still have the 106, but because the saxo is very similar chassis, here's another idea http://www.zcars.org.uk/saxo/index.htm rear engined type R or duratec 2.3 conversion. It looks rank but I imagine it goes some.
They'll even do a hayabussa turbo! 0-60 in 3.3 seconds...
I valeted a jag xjrs v12 years ago. the windows looked like they were tinted yellow there was that much staining. I spent about 2 hrs steam cleaning, deodorising that didnt work so I used fabreeze and then even used baking soda on the carpets (an old wives tale for soaking up odors) it looked...
I think it's ok. If the engine is out of a tomcat coupe then it'll be very quick, they were a 150mph car, i bet it still crunches into reverse though like all rovers seem to!
£2500 with, no doubt, some negotiation on that price is a bargain imo, so long as all the mechanicals have been done to...
I'd rather push my limits on a track rather than on the road so if i wanted to save some cash, a slow car wouldn't bother me and I'd have something quick for track days. Metro's handle well, they have hydrogas suspension not far different to the origional mini's hydroelastic which is very...
Metro or not I know what you mean. My sister and her fella bought an old 1275cc mini about 4 years ago and has so far had to replace the ariel (vandals) and a exhaust section £25. It costs feck all to run and insure and I defy anyone to drive a mini down a country lane and say it aint fun.
My...
Not sure about the manufacturer warranty, never owned a car new enough to have one! I'd imagine it all has to be Renault, my dad's merc has a 30 year corrosion and bodywork warranty but that has to keep going back to mercedes for it to apply.
My clio (2001) has lovely smooth inner aches...
I agree too it will look cool, I have toyed with the idea but my bonnet is alloy so already light I cant justify the money just for the look. Although I did think about stripping and polishing the alloy then laquering it, bit to blingy though I imagine.
The best part is they are an...
Where do the fix on the back of the seat if there are no hooks? Do you have to fit the hooks aswell?
I wouldn't mind one to stop my gear rolling around.
haha! good call! ;)
230bhp +, mid engine 3 litre, hand built bodywork, 155 mph but wait, just wait! the icing on the cake; there's a 'sticker' with 'renaultsport' on the clocks... oh. my. god. thats sold it for me! :)
Is it finished with a clear coat or not? If it's chalky and got no shine then you are best off giving it a good polish with an orbital, you could do this by hand though, the abrasion you want will depend on the quality of the paint to start with, for example something like Autoglym Super Resin...
I've got a wooden wine box that would hold 3 bottles of wine but I have my gear in it now I've drunk the wine :)
I keep my microfibers in tupaware boxes and everything else in a bag, all tuckerd up in my boot.
I dont like leaving it all knocking about in my garage, it's full of creepy...
Some people, eh! and on the rear panel, typical. Fingers crossed for you that the police find them on the cctv footage and throw the book at them.
Such a pain as you were going away too. Try not to think about it and enjoy the hols! :)
Platinum in Bath are ok, they even followed up my short visit to find out if I was happy with the service I recieved.
imo though, Renault service costs and parts are overpriced so they should be kissing your arse from the moment you walk through the door (and choose to spend your hard earned...
Re: 50% complete 172RWD!
How much do you think a rear engine conversion costs, both doing it yourself and getting it done elsewhere, based on the amount of hours, work and parts involved stevo? I remember the days when a mk3 escort could be converted to rwd for about £1k but a rear mounted...
