I had a go about 10 years ago when I worked in a bodyshop, check on youtube for vids as my info is from memory and that isnt always 100%!
Hold the pad FLAT against the bodywork with your left hand (if your right handed) as the edges will introduce holograms, work the machine (move it around...
Yep it's called a clio Thalia (in some countries) naff isnt it.
Follows the trend of the orion, belmont and all the other crap saloon versions of mass market hatchbacks all companies have produced at some point.
I can see what you're saying Joe, if it were me though I'd spend the 10 grand on the house! I could build a nice garage / workshop for that (and get it back on resale) but I think the enjoyment he gets from driving the clio is probably worth more than whatever fun he'd get from buying himself an...
MK2 RSi 1.6
7.5 - 8 / 10
Like the way it goes and handles. Nice interior and I like the colour.
I'm not happy about the cost of repairs which makes me drive it like it's about to self destruct, even though it's probably tougher than I give it credit for.
All the best for Uni. Good job with the cleaning. Might be worth have your folks run it every once in a while and rotate the tyres to avoid flat spots.
Same reason my dad ended up with an auto. If you are stuck in motorway ques and sat in traffic in town every time you go anywhere then an auto box is a luxury.
The 0-60 times on some (usually higher powered) vehicles are quicker with an auto or semi auto than with a manual because the gear...
Combe is just 30 minutes down the road from me but I didnt have a clue about it, damn shame because I would have liked the chance to meet up.
Nice collection of RS's and it looked like some great track action too.
Any ideas when the next combe event will be?
Re: 50% complete 172RWD!
Will you need to uprate the water pump if the water is traveling a greater distance?
Are you going to give the car any form of additional air cooling, side vents and fans (Turbo II style) where is your source for the induction, any plans for a FI conversion?
It's...
Shame to here, I hope you get it sorted. I have to add though, if there is no damage to your bumper I'm suprised your neck is sore. My mx5 got written off from a rear end shunt from an estate car ploughing into me on a 50mph road as I was stationary it catapulted me about 5 metres forward even...
madmax style tuning.
My mate had twin SU's on an old mg with ramstacks on the top which used gause mesh lids (60's F1 style), the vented bonnet was fitted with a cai pipe, no filter at all! just enough mesh to keep the (bigger) insects / general road detrius from getting sucked in.
I'm very impressed!
Looks like the lotus has the edge on breaking for corners, was able to scrub off the speed more quickly (or perhaps he was overcooking it) but it was obviouse he just couldn't pull back any time on the straights or around the corners.
tbh I am very surprised by that! I...
Cool pics, I love scrap yards!
There is a good one in Telford I went to years ago, you get to the office say what you want and are directed to massive rows of each vehicle / manufacturer. There was a burned vehicle section, commercial vehicle section and a jap section with some cars I've...
That pug looks alright with a black roof. Good idea about the vinyl.
If I were you I would get a flat (non metallic) black paint job on the roof with a clear coat. £150 sounds very cheap.
The depth of shine will be a really nice next to the metallic silver, I just think the black metallic...
Sounds like it was a good car, looks very tidy. It's easy to see how you miss it.
Some of my past cars have been slow, rusty, b******s to own and yet I still remember them fondly!
Cheers in some ways I agree, thats why I picked those smooth rims they compliment the curves better. I had a scirocco last year and I wanted that on Borbet A's (more geometric to match the angles of the 'rocco) slammed on coilies. I do think dubs pull the euro trick off better than french cars...
There was another thread the other day mentioning door smoothing, £2k is apparently the going price for going euro on a clio side panels, or 10 minutes with a hairdryer on a VW!!
I love breakers yards, could have done with more photo's! There like a car related treasure hunt!
Thats russian vine weed growing all over that R19 16v(?) it litterally will get / grow anywhere, in a few years you'll hardly be able to see it!
Gf was watching hero's, I dont know what the hells going on anymore in that show; so did this on photoshop while it was on.
I used the thumb pad on the laptop for a change :S
All smoothed (standard bumpers) no handles, ariel or locks. I figured the light units could be stripped and some...
Yep happened to me, NOT cheap to fix, the wire was all buckled and twisted and clips snapped so it couldn't be saved.
About £200 or there abouts at a garage other than renault. The motor is part of the regulator system so it all has to be replaced even when the motor works ok!
One good reason not to have AC!
Infact I'd forfeit power steeing, power windows, sunroof and anything else which is a luxury and adds weight, if I was given a choice when I bought the clio (that dosent mean I want them all to stop working now I got them though!).
I dont know about Aux...
How difficult is it to change an Aux belt Fred, I'm guessing a few hours work, is it worth changing the cambelt at the same time if they are similarly located and (stuff) has to be removed?
I loved the days on my old ohv rwd ford where it took less then 5 minutes to swap, I just loosen two...
