Lol, I'm sure this will irritate people... but, you have to hold it like a right flid in order for the signal to drop that much! Do people really press the whole phone into their hand when talking, as this is the only way I can see that you would touch the bottom when using it...?
I wasn't saying it wasn't a major issue, just that I personally didn't seem to be affected. This is down to how I hold the phone though, as when I touch that bit of the metal banding the signal goes from 2/3 bars of 3G to 1/2 of just 'normal' / 'o' signal.
As said, won't affect me but obviously...
Deekay needs to step away from the iPhone for a day or two!
I have no issues with signal; WiFi is way better and 3G seems the same. Amazing that they could overlook such a fundamental design issue. I suspect they may go down the route of compensation in some way as opposed to a recall and...
This is the exact reason why I wouldn't want to be at the front!
I was embarrassed being 6th in a queue of about 50... kept dipping my head wen I saw someone I knew walk past!
I had 2 months left. Don't think the system was working properly first thing this morning so it didn't calculate any upgrade charge! The assistant in O2 didn't have the time to investigate the problem...
I'm a tad concerned what the signal is going to be like once I leave my home... haven't once seen the '3G' logo yet which was ever-present on my previous iPhone when at home.
wozzaa - if the contract wasn't in your name what did you expect them to do?!? Legally you weren't responsible for the bills so any alteration to that previously agreed contract would be worth absolutely nothing from a legal POV.
Anyone having email issues with Yahoo Mail? Loads of emails dated from 1970, no sender or subject details, and I can't delete or read them. Don't show up in my 'actual' account when I check properly through Yahoo...?
I think it's funny how people are criticising retailers and networks because they have experienced busy levels that they have never before experienced.
It's hardly Apple's fault that everyone decided to QUEUE, is it?
A guy in work was selling a White one on the intranet today. I called his bluff and he reckoned that his mate works for Apple...
Anyway! If true, he said that there are only 22 in the country and basically won't be going retail. Who his mate is that is so privileged to have a White one, which...
If you haven't already, switch the phone on and off and also try connecting it to your PC.
Mine has shown 'no service' all day but fired right up when plugged in.
32gb was the only real option. I got HD filmz to be making...
Yeah, the paupers queue was big at half 8 so must have been crazy at half 9! I also noticed a load of Asian people... also a lot of fat, sweaty, virginity-stricken men.
What time did you arrive mate? Despite my best intentions, I ended up outside O2 at friggin' 6am this morning! 6th in the queue, which must have been 60+ people at 8am. I was actually burying my head in my book when people I knew walked past, I was so embarrassed of my geekiness!
I popped to...
Don't forget there's also Carphone Warehouse in Princesshay as well as the High Street!
My understanding is that O2 and Apple are open at 8, CPW and P4U open at 9. I don't know what Orange are doing tbh.
I'm detouring through town on my way to work in the morning. I either Apple or O2 have a...
Suspect you're right. I was going to call phones4u and CPW to find what time they were were opening. A little walk means you can check all the stores in about a minute!
Ah right, never knew that! I was going to get into work at 8 tomorrow morning but am thinking I'll detour through town quickly at half 7 to see what the queues are like... work won't miss me for an hour!
Thought I'd call my O2 store to see if they can give me an idea of stock levels (is it worth me popping in after work tomorrow) and matey reckoned they weren't getting the stock in until the morning...
Made a little joke about him having to start REALLY early to sort that all out before 8...
Bucko - Our O2 store is opening at 8:02 on Thursday. If youre really keen for one then I'd get there for around 7am and hope it's not busy...
If it's busy outside O2, at least you can check out Phones4u and Carphone Warehouse really quickly too.
Not sure, the fact that Apple requested you to specify means you'd better check at your local store.
Should be fine - the staff can move through sim-free customers quicker.
