The Hoff - sorry I should've gone into more detail. Both my work and home addresses are in areas where 3G used to be okay but a bit sporadic. With my old iPhone, the 3G would come and go, with my 4 it's always on 3G.
Plus, Internet pages load a helluva lot quicker on 3G now than they used to on...
I have only ever owned two Apple products. Ultimate fanboy!
Fact is MY phone works fine. I understand people have issues, I don't. Do I give a s**t about all those that have problems? Sorry but no.
My battery is about the same but I'm using my phone way more than I did my 3G!
People picking up scratches - are you putting your phone in your pocket with keys or coins or something?!? I've never put any of my phones in a pokey with anything else.
It's two issues mate. The ios4 shows signal as being weaker than the old firmware did, so people think they've got poorer signal than they actually do.
The aerial issue leading to dropped calls is a sufferer matter.
PMSL, I'm going to leave this thread now I think.
Non iPhone 4 owners can continue to slate it; I'll continue to not experience any of the 'massive' problems. Everyone's happy. :)
Oh, and I'm sat here at my parents' place, where I used to get no signal at all with my 3G when I picked it up (it's true that all phones lose some signal when you handle them, due to the internal aerials) I now have one bar. Not much but definitely a stronger, more reliable signal!
+1 to this. I'm cack-handed and have no issue.
If Apple want to do a recall and replace my used phone with a brand new one in a month or two's time then great, but I'll continue to enjoy using it in the meantime thanks.
People who don't own one and profess they don't want to, cool. If you...
It's a lot, lot better than the 3G I had previously. Maybe if you've owned a 3GS then the difference isn't as telling?
I'm by no means an Apple fanboy; I've only ever owned two Apple products. But I love this gadget. If you owned a 3G / 3GS and then bought a 4, why do so if you don't think it's...
No idea mate; I'd have thought that customer services are just generic in dealing with all queries. I'd guess anything iPhone related is dealt with by the same team...
Perhaps not, but my phone is perfectly usable. Pardon me for being selfish but I don't really care about the problems everyone else is experiencing! My phone has exceeded my expectations of it so I'm more than happy.
I thought it was common knowledge that the 'normal' customer would have to upgrade instore? Online not an option and only certain platinum customers got a call about upgrading over the phone.
The reason for the wait is because they've been activating and swapping numbers on thousands upon...
Agreed on the signal front and 3G front. I'm winding my missus up as she's waiting for a white 4 and her 3G now feels like a Nokia 3210 compared to the 4!
People using the signal issue as an excuse to not buy it are just finding any reason. It's really not that bad... from my experience of...
The lower signal strength in general is due to iOS4, not the iPhone. 3G/S also suffer from a lower indicated signal on the new update. However, it seems to be just the way the software interprets the signal you receive. My phone receives data when supposedly not in a 3G signal area way quicker...
I'm not but it's a known problem. Looks like it's more related to a certain batch than a widespread problem. Well, I guess it's still widespread if a batch contains 10's of thousands if units!
Picked up a bumper today, it's actually not too bad! Obviously not as pretty as the metal edging but still looks quite slick...
Also means I can chuck it around in work and not worry about the metal or "unscratchable" back getting scratched.
Who knows mate. The iPhone brand is so strong that Apple can pretty much guarantee that enough people will not be affected or just 'put up' with it that they won't need to recall. If they decide to refund all returns and then sell on to new customers they would still sell out.
However, this...
