Seperate unit mate. Unsure on which model yet though.
Aside from all the other benefits, I should end up with a digital boost guage as well :p
Where's yours fitted out of interest?
I never had any issues with Granular Recovery.
The AOFO used to be a pain in the arse back in my tech support days though. You'd tell it to use the Symantec Open file agent, the backup would fail for some reason. You'd choose the Microsoft VSS writer, the backup would fail. You'd let it choose...
I've done nearly 4,000 hard miles on it so far and not a single fault. Car feels quicker every time I drive it and the clutch has bedded in nicely.
I think K-Tec's website needs updating TBH.
Folks seem to be forgetting that the Trophy has the more capable chassis.
If I had one I wouldn't touch the suspension. I'd just stick my engine in it, whack some good tyres on it, uprate the brakes and leave the rest of the car near on standard. They're unique enough already so don't need to be...
Steve,
Yes it is the Stage 2 setup.
The reason it looks the same is because the high boost kit is more or less the same but with forged internals and various other bits and pieces to help make more power. The older turbo conversions used quite a few different components to this IIRC.
The idea...
Trophy without a doubt.
LY is just a colour. Take that away from the car and it's no different from any other ordinary 182.
I've actually thought about buying a Trophy and putting my engine etc in it, then selling my 172 as an almost standard car. I know I'd lose money, but I'd love a Trophy.
The RRAS stuff is mainly to do with DHCP relay (BOOTP) on the 291 exam. I don't remember it going into any of the other features other than maybe increasing the number of ports for users to connect to.
It covers the 80/20 rule and DHCP redundancy (by setting up the hop counts and the DHCP offer...
Sometimes you don't. Out of the 70 odd official questions, you'll only get asked 44 of them.
The tests are designed to make you fail if you aren't very good on a given subject. If you get questions wrong on say DHCP, it'll keep giving you more questions on that subject. Sometimes you even get...
I passed my 290 with no revision whatsoever. VERY easy.
70-291 is a lot harder but still not too difficult if you've got plenty of experience managing DHCP, DNS, WINS, WSUS and multi-site topologies. It also helps to understand IP addressing properly as well. Learn to calculate subnets in your...
I know the roads round there pretty well, as I'm sure some of the others do (Dave should for a start since he lives round there).
My bonnet will no doubt be open at some point during the day :)
It is pretty good. The only thing I hated about it was doing authorititive restores of AD because it defers from Microsoft's standard way of doing it.
Thankfully I don't have to deal with that shite anymore.
Why did you do the 70-270 over the 70-620?
They both count as the necessary "Client" exam, but the 620 is so much easier! It's also for a more current OS so it'll be valid for longer, and instead of getting an MCP you get an MCTS. As I said, it still counts towards an MCSA/E though.
However...
People will tell you that 4 pots aren't needed. The standard brakes are very good and can be made even better with uprated disks, pads, braided lines and fluid.
As for cages, there are a few on the market but I'm not best placed to answer. I know K-Tec do one or two different ones but it's not...
My insurance is actually a bit lower now than it was when standard.
Adding boost coincided with me moving house (into a nicer area) and living closer to work (less mileage) as well as getting an extra years NCB though, so I can't make an accurate comparison. I've also changed to a specialist...
Mine doesn't have any running issues whatsoever.
And if it ends up chewing gearboxes when running 20 odd PSI I'll get over it. The car isn't going to be a daily driver for much longer anyway.
And for those who are going on about insurance, mine costs £622 a year fully comp with ALL mods...
