This TBH. 10bhp makes sod all difference really. You could achieve the same performance gain by taking a dump and driving about with half a tank of petrol. IMO, you either go the whole hog and get it turbo'd, supercharged or ITB's, or leave the engine standard and concentrate more on improving...

The Megane 225 gearbox is too long to fit inside the 1*2. The 6 speed box doesn't mate to a 1*2 engine. You'd only get about 220ish BHP from the engine if fitted. For the cost, time and effort, why not just buy the low boost kit from K-Tec and fit that to the 1*2 engine. Makes much more sense...

As above - the Supersport has an unsilenced centre section. I have one on my car and it's awesome. Seems to be very good quality and sounds fantastic.

Mine always felt really quick even before it was given turbo power. Yet my mates all thought it was average Now it's completely different. They all s**t themselves every time they go anywhere in it. Just need more boost now :evil:

I had this too. Ended up getting a new engine. I now don't trust the "OIL OK" message anymore. Checking the dipstick weekly from now on.

It's a no brainer. VTS is the superior car here. So much more fun, faster, corners better and the steering weight and feel are perfect. Probably not much thirstier either if driven sensibly.

Sky Insurance quoted me £661 for my car with like-for-like on mods, which I shall probably be taking them up on when my existing policy runs out in 2 months. That's fully comp, all mods declared, aged 23, 3 years NCB and living in DE7. You northerners really do have it bad!
