I completely agree. I'm in the other camp though, I feel that for such a small gain in power the money would be better spent on learning to drive properly. Not only will it make you a better driver, but it's also a transferrable skill. Instead of spending it on a Clio that you won't necessarily...
LOL @ the trolls.
I too spent a fortune on my Mk2 Clio. I know (and knew) that I could get a "better" car for the money, but that's against the point.
Modifying cars is all about getting a car you like and making it your own. People expect Scoobies / Evo's etc to be stupidly quick. They don't...
I'm not saying spending 400 notes on the above work won't make a difference. It almost certainly will.
The way I see it though, there's not much point paying £400 for a slight power increase when to get any more out of it you'd need to spend big money anyway. Might as well just spend the big...
This TBH.
10bhp makes sod all difference really. You could achieve the same performance gain by taking a dump and driving about with half a tank of petrol.
IMO, you either go the whole hog and get it turbo'd, supercharged or ITB's, or leave the engine standard and concentrate more on improving...
Yeah. It's K-Tec's "stage 2" setup.
I'm hoping to go it back down there soon to get the boost cranked up fully :D
Should make at least 280bhp, possibly more.
The Megane 225 gearbox is too long to fit inside the 1*2.
The 6 speed box doesn't mate to a 1*2 engine.
You'd only get about 220ish BHP from the engine if fitted. For the cost, time and effort, why not just buy the low boost kit from K-Tec and fit that to the 1*2 engine. Makes much more sense...
There's a lad in Mansfield with a red '55 plate Trophy. I don't know his name or anything but I see him around quite a lot, it's probably him.
I don't know if he's on CS or not?
This.
I have 3 x 36GB 10k Raptors in my PC in a RAID 0 configuration.
I just have one C: partition spanned across all the disks.
Anything I download gets downloaded to my C: partition, then I just do all the extracting etc locally and copy it across to my Drobo when finished.
It's quick when you...
I've been using Windows 7 for months on end now.
I was testing the RTM versions at work for compabitility with our existing AV solutions, as well as ensuring that the Microsoft ISA Firewall Client (shipped with ISA 2006) works correctly on it. I was also doing a load of group policy testing...
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
Mine's still same as before mate. Only running about 0.5 bar.
The problem is I don't have much time for the car at the minute, I'm doing so much overtime and haven't got any holidays left this year.
I think I'll end up getting a boost controller if...
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
I'm running P Zero Nero's at the front myself. I can get wheelspin all the way through first and second quite easily in the wet but they're awesome in the dry.
I'm gonna try some different tyres next time. These were fine on the car when it was N/A but...
You'd love the noise my car makes :D Hence the "squirrel mincer".
Need to get some video's up TBH, feck taking vids and driving at the same time. Passenger with camera req'd.
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
Roffle @ the undertake. Well played!
Can't wait to get more boost myself. I showed a guy in an Audi S3 up the other night and I was very impressed at how easy it was to fly past :D
We really need to do this boosted mini meet. I'd love to see what an...
Mine always felt really quick even before it was given turbo power. Yet my mates all thought it was average
Now it's completely different. They all s**t themselves every time they go anywhere in it.
Just need more boost now
It's a no brainer. VTS is the superior car here. So much more fun, faster, corners better and the steering weight and feel are perfect.
Probably not much thirstier either if driven sensibly.
Sky Insurance quoted me £661 for my car with like-for-like on mods, which I shall probably be taking them up on when my existing policy runs out in 2 months.
That's fully comp, all mods declared, aged 23, 3 years NCB and living in DE7. You northerners really do have it bad!
