Or how about pressing and holding the trip computer button while turning the ignition on? Doesn't that recalibrate everything as well?
You know... the thing where all the lights flash on and the needles dance about.
You don't. But they do make the job a hell of a lot easier (and safer).
I wouldn't want a thick spring like that, with all that stored up energy jumping up and smashing me in the jaw.
Axle stands or a proper lift yes. You COULD just get away with using trolley jacks but axle stands are much safer.
Axle stands can be brought for about a tenner, as can spring compressors. The only other hurdles then are the cold weather, your confidence and whether or not you're worried about...
They're really easy to do.
I brought myself a set of spring compressors to do them with. Other than that, all you need is a good socket set and possibly some WD40 to help loosen the bolts on the top mounts.
My standard exhaust was painfully loud just before I got it replaced. I got under the car and had a look, and found 2 holes. One the size of a 5p right where the backbox was welded to the centre pipe and another one closer to the cat. I bet you have a big hole as well...
Re: Ben_stevo172 - Supercharged Monaco 172
I've got the fully forged internals already so it's simply a case of getting a decent boost controller installed now so the car can run more boost than it currently is, and be set up to run less boost in the lower gears to aid traction and hopefully...
£160 ain't a bad price for the disks and pads. How much did Fred charge for fitting on top?
I'll be needing new pads soon and was thinking of getting HC disks and braided lines at the same time ready for doing a track day or two later on this year. I simply don't want to be sitting on the floor...
If you haven't altered the auditing settings via group policy (or via the local policy on the DC's or workstations), then both the workstation in question and the authenticating Global Catalog server should have audited the logon event.
It'll be logged in the event viewer under the Security item...
I very rarely see any CS members at all TBH. Even though there's quite a few that live within a few miles of me I still never see them (apart from at meets).
Seems like the CS hotspots are right up north and right down south.
That's pretty much what I get too, and indeed everyone else I know who's got it.
It's not all about bragging rights like someone cleverly pointed out above. Comparing BHP is pointless most of the time because you can't really make use of it on the road. I can make use of my 50Mb broadband all...
No it isn't. Not yet at least. I can download at full pelt all day and NEVER get capped.
I was speaking to one of their 3rd line support guys on the phone a while ago and he told me that the 50mbit users are on a seperate UBR to the rest of the network's users. Because this hasn't reached...
I noticed the one-touch window button on K-Tec's Monaco 172 ('51 reg I think) when I borrowed that for a couple of weeks. I wonder why the later models didn't have it?
Sweet. I may have to invest in one of them. It's not like my cruise control buttons do anything anymore and airbags are for pussies anyway. Might as well have a better steering wheel that isn't falling to bits.
My '53 plate 172 SHOULD have come with a CD changer but it was missing when I brought the car. Damn pikey must have taken it out and flogged it on seperately when selling the car. The cable is still under the seat though so I could always get another. Meh.
It does have auto lights and auto...
The PTFE gaskets definitely do make a difference.
I've got a set on my car and after thrashing the tits off it all afternoon I can open the bonnet and put my hands on the plenum without fear of getting burnt. That's got to be good news for inlet temps.
Then again, I do have an intercooler as...
My car's MPG'o'meter doesn't work anymore, but I've worked it out anyway.
I zero'd my trip computer when I filled up before Christmas and I'd done 225 miles by the time I filled up again on Monday. I put 39.3 litres of Tesco 99 in it, so that works out at about 26mpg. Not bad at all really. I...
