The best thing to do with it is to leave it standard, otherwise you'll have the know-alls on here telling you it's a waste of money / it's going to break / it'll cost a fortune to run / it won't be driveable / it'll be hard to sell on etc...
Is that supposed to be a dig?
More like 6k actually. Plus I'm no mechanic, so there'd have been no point me even attempting it myself. I go to work, earn my beans and spend them on what I like. I just fancied a turbo'd Clio.
These threads are a daily occurrence now and they seem to be full of...
I'm sure the turbo'd cars are capable of making a lot more power than they are doing but the cost would get silly. Wasn't Scoff's turbo'd F4R making 551bhp?
I'd hazard a guess that bigger injectors, different turbo housing, better spec O2 / MAP sensors, bigger intercooler and probably an even...
Mine will make a fair bit more than 260bhp tho' ;)
TBH I can't wait to see an S/C'd 1*2 with fully forged internals. If it can make the 350ish bhp that Andy said it could that'll be epic.
That's why if you go for a turbo'd setup you have a few choices.
You can go for the low boost kit which will have a slightly smaller turbo and run 0.5 bar boost. Any more would over-stress the engine.
If you want to run more boost then you need to spend the money on uprating the clutch, the...
So do turbo's.
Superchargers and turbo's are both "parasitic". That is, they sit on the engine and sap some power to make more power.
I'd say the S/C kit is better for day to day driving because the power is more usable and more predictable.
The turbo setups you get a little bit of turbo lag...
You'll be pleased with either a Ph1 or a Ph2. And if you get a Ph2, you'll be pleased with it whether it's a 172 or a 182, cup or non cup.
For 3k you'll get a cracking car either way (and I'm not saying that because I own one).
I'm 99.9% sure it has never been done.
It's only had one owner before me and I doubt she will have done anything other than take it through the car wash.
I jet wash it when I clean it, but I've never clayed it. I saw the Dodo Juice guys claying at Autosport and it brought a load of crap off the...
Looks awesome. Excellent work.
I'm not into detailing myself but I definitely want some clay after seeing how much crap it brings off of what (to me) looks like a clean car.
Check the shocks. If they have oil on the outsides they're shot.
Check the tyre pressures. Should be 30psi at the rear IIRC, but either way make sure both are at the same pressure.
And if the roads are greasy, drive slower. Simples.
It used to be decent at first but now it's just full of chavs swigging flat lager and wearing their caps back to front, stood round their 1.2 Corsa's with 25 inch rims and at least 4 exhausts each.

If you're downloading them from a Newsgroup, you should download the .par files that are posted along with the content, then use QuickPar against them (as Griff rightly pointed out). The ".par"...
