sorry but Im of no good help. Never had to deal with flat spots when reving.
the only thing that I can think about is air filter and how is the weather?
what spark plugs are you runing? cold ones?
one thing that would fix engine "lazyness" its high octane fuel and ride the car in 5th gear...
so its all about handling more rpm.
I would check some other parts as well. Crank and valve springs. Need to know if std crank wont vibrate too much at higher rpm and if the valve springs are up to the task of closing the valves in time...
dont want no valve crush when piston goes to TDC...
Dont know about the pistons size of the 172, but arent they the same size of the willy ones?
why do you want forged pistons?? more rpm and want the pistons to handle? would the crank handle more rpm? turbo/supercharging?
Im still working (boring work argh) on my valver ph1 alloys has well. Mine were in bad shape, needed some rebuilt.
White its not my favourit colour. :(
Nice lump!!! Get it rolling!
I saw a F4R engine being open because the owner downshifted like a maniac. Seq gearbox, clio172 from speed circuit racing. too much rpm and valves hit the piston.
on the last trackday in Estoril circuit, a megane downshifted from 5th to 2nd gear (missed 4th gear) and engine blow.
warranty...
opps... I think I missed this topic. I didnt read your reply maciek sorry.
hum... good question about that on on the "find time to do the second "shot".
830?? weird... need to check other inj of my F7P.
btw, the bosch 830 arent the ones used on tuned FRST? I think that this are the inj used...
BenR remember that this is amateurs at the wheel. We dont have the experience of you uk ppl (either yours BenR since you are more of a wheelman) when it comes to TrackDays.
even thou, got to say that its happy days every TrackDay for our team. :)
I have done that upgrade. I didnt need no new bolts. Std are more than enough.
Master brake cylinder... cant tell. My RT comes std with alot of valvers mechanic and interior. I have the same pedal travel as I had on the std RT calipers. Or you dont need the valve master brake cylinder or my car...
This is what it happens when you work on a engine while watching kinky stuff on the TV.
dont belive it? Take a closer look!!!

I always say: Stay focus on the job!!!
LOLLL... check the cars paper. Mine says 850kg also, has the trucks scale did.
maybee you forgot... Im driving a RTi now mate.
too much spares... maybee I can make another car. hum....
nopes.. tomorrow picking up another one... want a spare also? I have two of them. :P
ohhh because of the weight! eheh LOLL with engine on! I weighted the car on a (ya the thing) for trucks. 850kg on the display. nice.
anyone tried the willy std exhaust manifold on the valver? if yes, what was gained and/or what was lost?
BenR, I disagree in the valver exhaust manifold. :P eheh
here some pics of mine.

The manifold itself...
The corolla is riding two guys... too much weight for drag racing.
what about fuel? how much on each car... you can have right there a difference of 100kg (extra passanger and fuel).
you need at least 15" alloy.
I think that the GTT calipers are for 238mm discs (vented). Valver/willy are for 259mm discs. Dont know if this kit will go on the GTT callipers.
btw, what renault discs would go on the clio? I mean, Im searching for a disc that would fit the clio up to 280mm...
btw, that thing of having the car "idle" at 3000rpm on the garage its really a good policie? I dont think so. The car needs to roll, engine must feel the load of being pulling the car, not just "idle" it at 3000rpm. The thing is it must be done in a gentle manner.
and yup, I respect alot the...
Like Eddd said, check the leads. Also check the dist cap and rotor. There could be too much wear.
Take a spark plug out and check it. Take a good look at it for gap and for its colour. That might help.
Good Luck.
