I've got 2 172's that I'll be swapping the engines over this weekend, the rough plan is
Remove Blue 172 engine and put into Red 172 shell

I'll be swapping the ECU's over as well. My question is, will the original keys still work with the...
Thought it was about time I did a proper build thread. I don't often come on here but thought it'd be a good place to document my journey into big boost turbo 172 track car ownership with all the trials and tribulations in one place for people to see! I'm in no way expecting an easy ride with...
I've just bought this as a long term project. Great starting point, I'll stick a thread up with my plans etc after I get back from the marham track day this weekend.

Don't think there's any pics of how i've attached it but i used extra strong velcro for along the top, and then at the rear, cable tied it to the heater. Seems to work well...
I had 428's fitted about 3 years ago as I was going to go down the ITB's route, I've had a change of heart and now thinking on a turbo.
Are the 428's worse than standard cams for a turbo'd F4R? Or will it make no difference at all?

I've got a shed 106 that I use as a daily for work and I've got a limited mileage policy through adrian flux, plus tax runs out tomorrow too! I'll be doing bits to it through the winter anyway so I will see it soon!
I thought I'd show some up to date pics of my cup before it goes undercover for the winter!
Im slowly getting into to detailing, this is the first proper clean I've given it, the car was covered is CL brake dust and after the F1 a while back it needed at good old clean! It's by no means...
Cheers JD, all help appreciated!
What's the aim of a cleanser/cleaner then? Why not just polish and glaze and leave the cleaners out? Are cleaners only normally used when polishing isn't needed?
Agree with comment on the wax too, as a total beginner I didnt want to go too far too soon, what...
I was in the same boat as you up until a few weekends ago when the car was in a bad state! From reading up on here and detailing world I managed to get very rough idea of a what i should be doing. Plus google "detailing flow chart" that helped me out as well.
My method just used including...

Thanks old_jalopy, I checked and that's where the water is!! I've checked all the seals and they are all fine, it wasnt until i was washing my car last night that I relaised where the water was coming in. As i've got a stripped interior you can see the clips where the bump...
I've got a stripped out cup, and recently after a drive in the rain it sounds like there is a shed load of water sploshing around under where the rear bench would go. I thought it was the fuel tank first of all, but then after a drive i hit the brakes hard and the water came rushing forward and...
