Engine Swap - 172 to 172 - key question

  Cup Turbo, Flamer
I've got 2 172's that I'll be swapping the engines over this weekend, the rough plan is

Remove Blue 172 engine and put into Red 172 shell

Remove Red 172 engine and put into Blue 172 shell.

I'll be swapping the ECU's over as well. My question is, will the original keys still work with the original cars. I'm not changing the UCH over or anything like that.

Just confused whether it'll actually start?!

No need to swap ecu's over.

keep the original ecu and everything will work perfect.

(also the ecu, uch, key and barrel are all connected so they HAVE to go together!!)

Damn! The red car has a turbo engine with a gen 90 ecu, blue car has standard ecu, hence me wanting to swap just the ecu,

No way around this then?

Swap, ECU, UCH and the key, you can change the blade between keys which you need to do to keep the immobilser part with the correct ECU
