I'm probably missing something in the MPG race to the lowest figure? Even in traffic I get 42 mpg out of my 172. I must try harder ;)

Iv'e owned my 172 for about 6 weeks now. It came with some pretty bad dents in the rims, mainly front n/s. I've also added a few more :dapprove: There's a place near where I work that says it 'repairs' alloys - same day. What's involved in repairing? My n/s rim looks like it's missing...

Seems to me you are expecting a tow? :-)

Wouldn't you get heavier wear on the inside of the tyres?

I have emailed boxermotor three times for a service/cam quote via their website address. I haven't had a reply. They are losing business :-(

Around 20 miles, 60-70% motorway. I am not heavy footed but cruise at 60-70 mph (try doing more than that around the Thames Valley in the rush hour!) :)

Some years ago I bought an Audi A4 from a local dealer. They 'sold' me their 'one year warranty' - It wasn't worth the paper it was written on. In retrospect I can see they passed their responsibility on to a third party, who had so many exceptions in the small print it was a waste of time...

Constant 44 mpg on my journey to work, and 47-48 on a long run (70 mph).

When I had my Golf, and previous cars, I used to park as close to the pavement as possible, maybe 2-3 inches. Now, after losing a couple of wing mirrors, I park 9-12 inces from the kerb. I don't worry so much about the rims, but I don't think the low profle tyres on my 179 will take as much...

TBH that's not a lot of MPG these days. Do you thrash about with the pedal to the floor? ;) Seriously... I think this thread is showing how different MPG figures can be - presumably by the way the car is driven.

My 172 gives me 47 mpg on a long run and 42-44 mpg around town. I think I must be light-footed? ;-)

How the hell do you keep the front wheels on the ground when your right foot is on the floor? I have trouble keeping my 172 on a straight line! Wahey! :)

I see soooo many plates illegally spaced... at least one or two a day. Are they really being actively monitored by the police?
