I have been phoning around Renault dealers for a Phase II 172 Owner's manual.
All say 'out of print', except one who tried to sell me a non RS manual :dapprove:
Is there anything available on-line do you know?
Iv'e owned my 172 for about 6 weeks now. It came with some pretty bad dents in the rims, mainly front n/s. I've also added a few more :dapprove:
There's a place near where I work that says it 'repairs' alloys - same day.
What's involved in repairing?
My n/s rim looks like it's missing...
I bought a 2003 172 with 34k on the clock about 6 weeks ago. Really good price but it's now due for a 36k service and the belt change :(
My works fitter has offered to do the belts change for £280 and the service for £140. I know this is a good deal, but do I risk giving the car to a...
Around 20 miles, 60-70% motorway. I am not heavy footed but cruise at 60-70 mph (try doing more than that around the Thames Valley in the rush hour!) :)
Some years ago I bought an Audi A4 from a local dealer. They 'sold' me their 'one year warranty' - It wasn't worth the paper it was written on.

Exactly. I am sure they are very good cars now (VW?) but the stigma remains. Now if Skoda were re-branded I might think differently?
When I had my Golf, and previous cars, I used to park as close to the pavement as possible, maybe 2-3 inches. Now, after losing a couple of wing mirrors, I park 9-12 inces from the kerb.
I don't worry so much about the rims, but I don't think the low profle tyres on my 179 will take as much...
TBH that's not a lot of MPG these days. Do you thrash about with the pedal to the floor? ;)
Seriously... I think this thread is showing how different MPG figures can be - presumably by the way the car is driven.
How the hell do you keep the front wheels on the ground when your right foot is on the floor? I have trouble keeping my 172 on a straight line!
Wahey! :)
Ditto the original post :(
My 2003 172 has 35,500 on the clock and need cams/service soon.
Just had a quote from Renault dealer:
Service = £298.32
Cambelt & Auxillary belts = £771.86
Mot = £53.10
Total - £1123.28
We have currently a promotion which i can offer which will bring the price...
