Is it a 1.4 Auto? If so they had 2 belts mate, both easy to tighten if you have a trolley jack and a spanner set. Alternater belt is to the back, PAS belt to the front, both work on manual tension (Ie, Move the PAS pump towards the front and tighten it, same concept for the alternater belt)
Yes mate easy as, might want to removed the airbox/pipes if you need to. Can miss it, right ontop of the bell housing.
10mm socket on a 1/4" ratchet is ideal, but a 10mm spanner would do the job
Get your battery tested mate, just to eliminate the basics, does your rev counter go up when you crank it? If it doesn't its TDC sensor more than likely. Try tightening the terminals on it.
Looks like this
Not my pic
Make sure you've got a decent socket set (You'll need an E8 socket, female torx socket) Stick to the manual and take your time, remember not to wrench any pipes, or pull any wires. Clean it well but don't got mad with the spray.
Check it over a few times before you start it again don't rush
Yeah not allowed to drive Clio sports, but a mapped 2.2 Dci laguna is quicker, or it felt quicker. Think the bloke said it was 170 bhp
1.2s are slow but there a solid engine
Sadly not mate, they use the 5 speed out of the f4p petrol engined Laguna 2's. Ie, reverse is down and right without the lift selector. Well built gearbox just some can feel like the ratios are messed up. The new 1.5 dci 106bhp clio has the 6 speed box same box as the 197.
Thats a good price...
Wouldn't bother mate, I'd wait till the oil change see what its like but upto you.
quick google

Spot on edde, 9/10 service desk, service advisers whatever you want to call them don't have a flipping clue, they're trained on the job and spend more time invoicing(sp) warranty jobs, or filing job cards, rather than getting trained up properly, dealing with customers etc. Most have no...
1.4 16V Fred not the cup. They're around £35/36 from stealers, I'd check ebay. Hint Hint
Depends how old the car is and if its had them before, they might pay 50% etc
Possibly a temp sensor as said. Does it seem like its running on 3 cyldiners. If its still missing its a pencil coil mate, even when warm they can do it.
You can take it too a garage they'd probably go straight to them or if you can do it yourself. Turn ignition off, take off engine cover...
I'd take it back personally, or get an independent place/vehicle testing station to give it a thorough(sp) checkover sounds like they've fucked up.
I don't know how much the gearbox oil is, doubt it's that much but can't think what else it could be, I can find out tomorrow for you though...
So they've billed you over £2k, and used 87 cable ties, and your car still isn't right???
Transmission D - 8200/372/166 could be gear oil can't think of anything else it could be, and that isn't on the list already. Haven't got the latest dialogys here.
Its like the MK1's, Willys & valvers, felt fast (which they are) in a small/go-kart like car
Then the 172 similar engine size, better built car, feels less fast, and so on all the way upto the 197.
They're both well done replicas thought gotta give them that, only realised when I read the posts lower down. Looks better than all the OTT body kits and that, wouldn't do it personally but hey ho each to there own.
Yeah I take it its the second in from the left? Seen a few of them do they have xenons as they're dipped lights, sure I've seen them on the late models. Or is that the cup version weighting only 35 tonne? :o
Yeah the sites a bit confusing took me ages to work out how to download it from and that. Yeah you have to sign up first don't remember anything else. Sorry mate
You can get the offical tomtom ones mate or ones from sites such as pocketgpsworld.com Got mine from there for the tomtom one (early version) think its £19 a year for all the cameras from pocket gps.
If you want the traffic though I'd get the official stuff but I didn't look into it because I...
