Yes - If you just snapped the metal, & managed to get it out of the barrel, just pull the leftover out the remote, then order a new key BLADE from Renault, they'll need your details, VIN etc. Takes 10 days.
You don't need a new transponder if you've only snapped the blade.
If its just the lettering/numbers thats worn and you only want to replace that, it just pops out the top. Don't think you can buy them from Renault seperately though
Common as muck mate, mainly on 1.6s meganes and scenics as theres lots of them about. Basically what happens it theres a end covering on the dephaser that it held on by tiny bolts, and in time these work loose, leaving a gap for oil to come out, or in some cases, almost totally fall off.
70%...
Both sides? If you can hear the motor working/banging sounds like the cables have frayed or come wrap themselves round, ie you need a pair of regulaters if thats the case
No, done it in my mates back garden lol. Took an hour and a half todo the cambelt and water pump, bleed up. Around 30 minutes more to bleed the brake fluid, and change the diesel filter, air filter and pollen filter.
I bought a full set of Renault timing tools for around £100 a year ago...
Haven't got a pic of the intercooler sorry, A bit dirty I know, believe it or not its immaculate nowadays.
Spot the new filter....
Just finished full service/cambelt on it
Edit-Alan you funny b*****d lol
Easy mate theres open both doors, and take a little clip T30 out both side with a small screwdriver or a pick. Remove 3XT20 screws running along the far side of the dash near the windscreen (In the vents as such) Remove the 2 silver trims (on top of glovebox, other infront of the key barrel...
Bullshit! Your not trying hard enough, I've done loads of these and hardly struggle. If your struggling to change the clutch cable luckily they've changed to hydraulic now for lazy b******s so your okay.
Don't follow this guide if are a girl/cry like a girl when your hands get cut up ;)
Is it engine knock bobby or when moving? Does it knock more when cold aswell?
What does he mean by compresser? Air con? If so its at the bottom. Might mean pump
Al check your sump plug & oil filter, if its got the metal oil filter there made on the cheap, and the joins are s**t so can leak a little. Best way if you haven't got a ramp is to take the OSF wheel off.
Check if you've got an ally sump aswell, as some people put the wrong washer on the sump...
Stick with the DCI mate, theres not much in performance to be fair, the DCI will feel more punch, whereas the 1.4 will keep revving right round.
For the very slight difference in performance, the extra MPG is way worth it, only case I'd swap is if your bored with the spec level. Ask pmurray...
Definately a knocking not the plastic trim that covers the tailgate?
Check your rear springs mate they're common for snapping, can feel it all the way top to bottom, they can crack but at a first glance look okay. Check your shock aswell.
They're tight thats for sure, its down to personal prefrence, if theres no time limit I'd drop the lot out, as its a pain in the neck working your ass off for hours only to realise its too tight & remove it all anyway.
Do you know the donor cars Clutch/Gearbox are in good nick?
Looks good Gav, My old RT had that faded bit of trim where the front wiper arms are, never did get round to getting some back to black on it.
Whereabouts in Cov are you?
DCI 100 has equal torque to a 172 if not slightly more, but a different box. Clio gearboxes aren't great but they're better than some.
They use the ND0 (1.9DCI) PK6 is Lagunas/V6s only luckily
The new 106 DCI's Clio/Meg/Scenics use the same box as the 197, same family as the ND0 box
