Have you taken the belt off to confirm it definately is making the noise?
Chances are unless you asked otherwise, they used a non-genuine belt at the garage, & you get what you pay for to be honest. They can be expensive but a genuine one should solve it. Seen this a few times from GSF belts...
A couple of days before you do it, soak the lot in penetrating oil, don't be shy with it, and do it the day before aswell. Wire brushing the bolts aswell will held no end. I'd recommend a cheap 1/2 inch impact wrench, saves loads of time and loads easier.
If you haven't got the proper tool...
Listen to what Brian said, thats some good advice. Drive a 1.1 fiesta for 12 months, all your mates will laugh at you, but the amount you'll save on insurance/fuel can go towards a better car when you need to. Get a cheap car, then if you crash/destroy it, it won't matter as much.
Yes, they...
Yeah as Fred has said its only very slight water from condensation, nothing to worry about atall - common as. Most 1.2s never see the motorway, stop start journeys and never get a good hammering.
Crank pin, & Cam locking tool, & ideally, the T50 bar, although you can get away without it.
Crank Pin - MOT 1054
Cam Bar - MOT 1496
*Edit* Make sure he changes the tensioners, & the jockey wheel too.
Nathan did you put a battery on from your thread the other week? If its turning over the starters alright, or is it just spinning?
What does the rev counter do when you turn it over, it it does nothing I'd start to look at your TDC sensor/wiring.
Have you turned them off Fee? Sit in the car with the ignition on, & turn your side lights on & off. It'll go beep, & reverse to turn them on/off.
IIRC its 2 to turn them on, 4 to turn them off or the other way around.
Is it your rear fog light on the dash. You need to clean up the block plugs on the back lights & the earth leads. Get some electrical cleaner in there and make sure the block plugs are all clean.
Easiest way todo it is to take the clusters out.
No they're like a cheese graiter in a way, better than the rubber I think.
To be fair the MOT is a basic check of most things on the car, if it can't pass it... One day its missing a rubber grip, next day its pads metal to metal, next day its a knackered ball joint.
GT is the same engine as the 225 mate, minus the turbo and the map. I woudn't bother getting the GT just get a dynamique 2.0T 165 BHP on the facelift model. Or a 1.9 DCI or even a 2.0DCI, but the spec will be the same just not the exhaust surround and the front bumper and a few other bits.
GT...
TransELF-TRX 75/80 is good stuff a lot of people don't rate it though.
Don't forget to replace the copper washer
You can take the bottom hose off to drain the coolant but it can be a right pain todo on your back.
Hehe, I'm putting 4 on it tomorrow (if the boss doesn't show up) and a sly oil change, and adjusting tappets on my brothers RT, and another sly oil change.
