Could this be something as simple as the wrong oil being used, Hopefully you are using the correct grade, 5w 30 or 40 fully synthetic. Another possibility is nothing to do withe cams/lifters, could the carbon canister/valve ticking, the black box under the offside headlight but the valve is...
Money will be spent thriftily on the car, renewing parts as close to OE as possible but only if they are better, as and when they wear out. Rather spend me dosh on trackdays.
I don't work at Gardners, just use their car park for photos as I live near buy and its quiet at weekends.
No alignment done yet, I'm fitting Eibach pros soon and possibly new OE shocks/top mounts if needed, then have it aligned. Keeping it OE all the way except the Eibachs.
Part 3.
After a few weeks and many smiles per miles the weather is dry warm and sunny so it was time for some paintwork attention.
After a soak and shampoo, the chips and scratches needed some touching in with a Mondial Blue touch up pencil, the rest of the day was spent with a bottle of...
Part 2.
Now it was time to fit the the front body parts back together again. I spent two days re-aligning the the front wings and refitting the front bumper to get the right gaps, you can never get it back to factory like finish but I managed to align the panels to a reasonable standard. Last...
Part 1.
Back in February and after the wife banned me:dapprove: from tracking the Fabia after trashing a number of tyres, my thoughts turned for a Me only car which I could use as a runaround and trackday car, but with a modest budget of £2k.
After much deliberating and advice from various...
Cheers Mr. Bear. Yes I've been doing that, as Fred says, started at 27psi all round, which seemed soft for a couple of laps then the next tracday started at 30 but seemed too hard and bouncy. As Im on standard springs it will more likely be them that caused the problem so a set of...
A solar panel charger is not going to be much use at night when you need some extra charging,
Advice A. Fit the right battery 063 is the correct size. B. Cycle to work. C. get the car out out weekends and go for long drives.
The rear discs usually come with bearings fitted, some suppliers are minus the bearings. Renault OE's and GSF do. Renaults OE are about £110 a pair, GSF are about £70 a pair and are adequate. If your rear brake discs are rusty and worn then change them too. Only do a bearing change if...
You've already found out out that the car is just as quick as before, It's just the noise that makes it seem faster. The quieter exhaust associated with being slow is just perception in your mind.

The first photo shows the hose from the fuel tank breather via the carbon canister, if this is loose, air leaks etc it will cause rough idle, follow the hose to the carbon canister under the offside headlight and from there to to the fuel tank. Not sure about the others.
I don't think you can get better than the Prolines when it comes to non coilover suspension. Anything else will be too hard and crashy, and I'm not keen on coilovers either on track, they seem too bouncy. Just making it lower does not mean it will corner better on a track. Have you tried...
Eibach Pros on there way to me, courtesey of"Budgie". So should lower the front a bit. I beleive the Eibach Sportlines lower it even more, up to 60mm. if your car has a/c.
If you had dot 4 in the brakes before then 1litre will be enough to flush and replace, as long as you suck out the old fluid in the master cylinder first. Use 1/2litre per wheel if the old fluid was unknown or old and dark brown. ATE has been ok for me and have not boiled it yet on the track...
You'll have problems finding a Silver, Iceberg Cup but plenty of Blue, Mondial ones out there. There are traders that are advertising "Cups" for sale that clearly are not, The genuine ones have cloth seats , no a/c no rear head restraints, 2 rear seat belts and as above Turini alloys and...
Tried Phillips Bluevision and they are crap, no brighter than the standard halogens and look nothing like Xenons. Osram Nightbreakers or Silvervision are the best so far.
NO DEFINITELY NOT 24V. Have a look around other battery shops, even Halfords. Varta, Bosch and Exide are the best ones. My Exide cost me £39 just a couple off weeks ago.
There are indeed 2 rubber pipes that connect to these inlets, the pipe ends have fallen down into the engine bay. One at the back of the engine and one on the side. Have a good look and you'll find them.
