Needs to be the thin oil as you say to operate the dephaser and lube up the camshaft and associated lifters. As you say was prbably not topped up correctly, hopefully you have no oil leaks.
It's the same one as I bought for my cup. the only differences I have seen on other 1x2's are the bottom fixing pins, some are facing sideways and some downwards. Check how yours is fitted before ordering. It's aslo the same price as mine but from a differnet source.
Seems strange to me why car enthusiasts spend lots of dosh on making their car go faster over a 1/4mile, only to find the quicker they go the less time you can enjoy yourself behind the wheel. Bit of a conundrum to me. Each their own I guess but I'll rather go on track days and enjoy...
The tax may be cheap but insurance will be more. Cat c 's aren't to be completely avoided but at the right price, I'm thinking £1600.
Also it will be harder to sell on due to it's strange history.
Rude Racing are the cheapest I've found for new ones. Whats wrong with used ones? there are Eibach's coming up for sale on Cliosport regularly. Its not that they wear out is it? more that they are worn in for you.
You could buy the paint required and give it to the refurber if you know the shade. That will put the onus off matching the colour on yourself of course.
Definitely wind them in clockwise and apply pressure too, I used a strip off flat metal that fitted in the piston slots and its easier done with the calipers on the car so don't take them off.
Im changing my springs to Eibach Pros today. Having taken one front spring out it looks to be about 2" shorter and 2 less coils than the new Pros spring . The Eibach part no. is EU7714001VA, is this the right one? Can't find any mention of a specific part no. for the Cup springs on the Eibach...
Passengers are allowed in my car, they get a free ride to wherever and thats it. No loud music, eating, drinking, smoking, wanking, shagging (unless with me), farting, talking football, winging. Probably a few more too.
It's unlikely to be the sticking calipers, but have a good look at the rubber piston seals, if they are split/damaged/missing then the piston edges rust up and prevent them withdrawing into the caliper. Uneven wear is not uncommon and all the cars I have had in the past have had uneven wear to...
Is it the engine light in the centre display or the engine light (emmision light) on the right hand side of the instrument panel, if the latter then not too important, the car is safe to drive. If the former then will be a fault in the ignition system, low oil and things like that.
