Definitely the Clio will quicker around a track. I have a heavy tuned Diesel 192bhp and a Clio Cup 170bhp and the Clio is quicker. You take your 1.4 on track mate, doesn't matter how powerful a car is, will still be fun.
You can remedy it by fitting a longer bolt and a nut underneath. It's fiddly holding the nut underneath to fit the bolt but depends which bolt thread is stripped.
To me it sounds like the heatshield between the Ex. manifold and bulkhead vibrating (had this noise myself). From memory it is held on by 1 bolt and the corners can touch other parts of the exhaust, bodywork and Steering rack. You would have to lift the front of the car safely and have a poke...
My kind of tester mate, there's a few decent and sensible ones around, my regular tester does the same. Phones me if it is gonna be more than £20 which 99% of joe public would be happy with, unfortunately the odd person would create merry hell if you fixed a £2 bulb and didn't ask them first.
Take one off and go to GSF, ECP or main dealer and show it to them, they'll match it up with the same. They are interchangeable with other cars so don't assume it has to be a Renault one.
It's all down to which wheels you prefer. Plus, having option wheels added to the new car invoice will be cheaper than changing them at a later date. Make up your mind quick.
I would give the garage a chance to repair the leak 1st. If they can't fix it then you should be entitled to a refund as with anything else you buy. I wouldn't put up with more than to two visits to the garage though.
I've seen a couple of CL10xxx plates around, I'm surprised they are not picked up by the DVLA and auctioned, as they they do with other Name of Marque reggies. Grab 'em while you can.
Have you heard of places call Motor factors and Main Dealers. Apparantly you can walk in pay yer money and walk out with the pads all within 5mins. Ordering stuff on the WW web takes time.
exhausts and filters do almost nothing for bhp figures but will help the engine breathe better. A remap adds 5 or so bhp but will drive smoother and iron out any flatspots, rough running. ITB's , turbo and supercharger are where the big gains are but you'll be spending over £2k. for either.
The red engine symbol in the centre of the dash is the engine warning light, serious problems. The amber engine light to the right, bottom of the dash is the emmisions warning light.
You can have fun in any car on a track. Best I've seen is a Pug 106 1.0L . with standard everything. A couple of teenagers sharing the car going sideways mostly, they were definitley havving fun. So a 1.2 Clio should be no different.
Any filter is good for the engine as long as it's clean, I only bought the Pipercross as it's washable and saves money in the long run. Gains? No, especially on a 1.2.
No, I don't want to spoil your fun, it's just that it IS a tiring car to drive over any distance, my Cup is purely a runaround and trackday car only used at weekends. For £2k. yes you can have something worthwhile have a look at my thread, no minter by any means...
70 miles every day will be tiring in a Cup due to its crashy springs, buy something else. A diesel something should be better for you and save some fuel costs.
