Austin, The filter has to be taken out then there is couple bolts you loosen front and back, can't remember where they are now but you'll find them easily, jack the car up, undo drain plug, let the car down until allthe oil drains then jack up again to fit the plug,a new washer will be fine.
The air filter box needs come off to get to the fill/level plug, it is a plastic black or white butterfly at the front of the gearbox about half way up facing the radiator. People with long skinny arms can reach it. The drain plug is under the box and you will need a 8mm. tool, it's the same...
Why waste your money on uprated suspension parts, then complain about them. If your car is for road use only there is no point in anything other than OE parts.
Sounds like you have the wrong hub diameter spacers, 25mm is bit excessive to me. I would take them off and drive the car to see if the clonking stops, if it does then youve proved it's the spacers. If you carry on driving as it is it's likely the wheel bolts will snap.
Spax parts used to fall apart too early in their life due to poor quality. About 2 years ago the company had a shake up and have said there their parts are much improved in quality. Convincing us is the hard part after years of poor feedback. So that is why no one endorses Spax these days.
Try this lot, worth phoning to check fitment. The 172 and 182 look the same to me. http://www.thecarparts.co.uk/acatalog/Radiator_Catalogue_Eng_Size____2_0_i___16V____2921.html
Try searching for all Clio radiators then look at the diagrams to see which one is the same as yours. The diagrams also give the core and external measurements and whether a/c or not.
You can buy new ones from £50, I tried a 2nd. hand one it was just as bad as my original. So ended up with one from Coolparts in B'Ham. Have a search on Ebay, there a couple off traders selling them.
Having recently found how it works, the average MPG reading always shows 32.x mpg to 33.x mpg readings even on a trackday the MPG figures show these figures so only varying by about 1 to 2MPG. Why?
Miles to the pump works ok and average speed seems to be ok as well.
Buying a car on finance can make sense but only if the interest rate is low, say up 6%. I know some people pay up to 25 or even 30% with a Credit Card, that is madness.
I know Danny's parents and sis who I used to live next door to. I remember Danny and his dad were keen Drag car racers but I moved about 4years ago and I've lost touch with them.
I've removed the the solenoid to check that it is working ok. When I apply 12volts to the terminals the solenoid activates but the piston inside the valve only moves about 2-3mm. Doesn't seem enough movement to me Should the piston move more than this?
The faults seem easy to fix yourself except you have underestimated the cost of the exhaust. As you say drive it for a few days and see if it has other problems, not often you can do that. As long as the engine is strong should be decent enough buy, another £ 200 off the asking price would...
