Thanks for the info. Strange it just suddenly stopped working.
Was abusing the car all day at Mallory. Line it up with the trailer, turn it off to drop the ramps, go to drive it on and nothing.
Complete loom. Engine bay and interior.
Looms be stripped down and no breaks.
The fact it starts with a spare set of ECU, UCH etc should rule a broken wire.
My cup is refusing to start and showing a solid red light on the dash.
I've read many threads and tried everything said in the threads.
I've even replace the entire looms that I've check the common wires for breaking on.
Only thing that has made a difference was when I changed the ECU, UCH...
So no progress with my immobiliser faulty I got a spare ECU, UCH, key and decoder ring.
Fitted it all and the immobiliser started working as normal, red light didn't stay on car turned over over as normal and did stay and try to run. It didn't as it's a standard map/ECU.
Fitted my ECU, UCH and...
Impact guns have me torque in reverse as there mainly for undoing things.
I nip up wheel bolts with a gun then use a proper torque wrench to set the torque
Milwaukee is the best one I've come across.
I did a wheel bolt up with a Milwaukee gun and my big snap on gun couldn't undo it.
I'll be swapping my snap on gun for a Milwaukee one soon. I did buy Milwaukee battery ratchet, battery screwdriver and a small 3/8s gun which all are so handy.
Since Mallory the Clio has been messing me about and not starting and finding wiring issues I decided I needed to rip the complete loom out and throw another one in that I knew was good.
Few pictures of progress
Whilst it was like this I ordered a new gauge
And tow eye as mine...
If Valeo make it. Luk will box it and will be stamped Valeo.
I'll get one of each off my shelves Monday and picture them. I've just had my all my parts advisors go though LUK technical seminar night on Monday.
The Schaeffler group will only sell OE manufactured parts
Valeo make the clutch for Renault.
LUK are an OE supplier and only sell OE parts, so if Valeo make it LUK will box a Valeo clutch, same with if Sachs make or Excedy. All are going to be fine.
Very smart!
Mines got the extra long ramps, moveable wheel chocks, 4 grip pads for slicks and winch.
I've got the same fuel can box and rear legs but need to fit them. Need to figure out how they attach as they've come with no instructions haha.
Good progress being made!!
I'm in the middle of tackling the wiring on my cup. Was thinking about cutting the alarm and all the crash sensors out but worried it wouldn't start after haha.
How much have you cut out and did you just follow the wiring to a plug and cut it off flush to the plug?
If your judging that by the picture with Porsche in, I kinda left the strut bolts finger tight 🙈
I adjusted the camber during the lunch break and rushed to get back out lucky first hot lap I heard a clunk around the hair pin and popped back in to tighten it. Lucky nothing else happened...
Followed your build on SCN! Very nice Cupra, love a good Leon me but I'm biased tho haha
You will enjoy the Clio and judging by the Leon will be mint!
I'm sure that pipe went to a valve under the passenger headlight but everyone gets rid of the valve.
I had to undress the loom and retape it all to get it the ecu there and have the wiring nice and tidy. But I had it all apart to make it tidy for fitting the RS2 inlet as well. Easily done tho
Well as the weather was so nice I decided to look at the Clio.
Ended up removing the whole engine loom and started taking the interior apart to remove that loom. Also got out my spare set of looms and went through them ready to put on.
As I started going through the old engine loom...
Cheers bud. Yours is coming on nicely. I Keep watching as I'm interested in a pedal box.
Mine tho, Just the head lift blanks I guess. Other than not giving insurance or tax and I won't be moting it again lol.
Had an awesome day at Mallory. Was abusing the car all day and it took it all day.
Was so much grip and able to carry a lot of speed. Was maxing out 4th down both straights.
The quick rack was amazing. Had to relearn the track but after a few sessions it was spot on!
Only issue I had was...
Thanks bud, it's epic to drive which is the main aim.
Cars not road legal so only took it around the block but can feel a difference, I'm at Mallory on Sunday so will see how it compares to September and report back.
Thanks, it pictures well for an old girl, the shell isn't as pretty as it...
I would defo invest in the Marks hubs well worth the cash.
I run them with PMS bearing arms and the handling is spot on.
You sound a bit like me, anal about handling rather than Power hungry figure chasing!
