my service light has come on at 44,000 is that right (2003, 1.2 dynamique) as my car was last serviced at 37,000 miles or has it come on as one of my side light bulbs is out.
cheers
James
yeah the car came with the dent when i bought it, i will get it knocked out a some point. obviously due to the previous owner just leaning on it to try and shut it but instead just pressing in the bonnet
it is shiney but once i have finished the rest of the car i will portacable the whole car and that will make it shine better as at the moment is hasnt had any polish on it
thanks buddy i had to customise the bumper brackets and fibreglass the top of it to get a decent fit. i also smoothed out the headlight washer jet holes
dont give up mate, i too i am building a replica (gris boreal too) and today i got round to fitting the sports front bumper which i customised to fit the standard arches and painted myself. i have had doubts at points throughout the project but i am so glad i stuck with it after seeing the...
there is some stronger stuff that comes in two yellow tubes available from your local halfords, i think its called something like super steel
edit - Its plastic padding super steel epoxy weld, 5.99 but its good stinks though lol
are you using spray cans or a proper paint gun.
cans wise you will probably be looking at 2 to 3 large cans of grey primer, 2 to 3 cans of paint and 2 to 3 cans of laquer. you will be looking around the £50 mark
the cracking occurs if you havent keyed the surface as the primer cannot stick to it mate, you need to take some fine sand paper (800 grit) and rub up the surface. by putting tiny scratches in it the primer can bond to it, they will then disappear when applying a second coat, apply three coats...
here you go mate, sorry about the filth all over my car i have been sanding all morning, custom fitting a 182 front bumper. the door badges are in ford graphite grey
oh my god, i think ive just had an accident lol. the silver one looks pretty damn nice and then i was stunned when i saw the black one. lovely motors mate
i am in the process of colour coding mine buddy and it is the same colour as yours, i am not doing the front and back as they are being replaced with sports bumpers but i will get some pics up for you when its done
i havent started yet buddy, halfrauds have run out a grey primer and laquer :( so hopefully they will get some in soon. i am hoping to have finished both sides finished and started on the spoiler by the weekend
i am in the process of colour coding mine and was pleasantly surprised by the decent colour match from halfords, having said that it wasnt as good when i did my saxo. really depends on the person doing it
it isnt my bumper mate, i only used that technique to fill the holes left from cutting the slats out.
some people use wire mesh as a base to give the fibre glass something to stick to and make it stronger
i would use some p40 fibre glass mix, put duct tape across the gap on the outside of the bumper, as it doesnt stick to it then apply the p40 from the back of the bumper, once this has formed a solid layer remove the tape then use p38 body filler and sand till smooth.
the same technique was used...
i was just wondering what this would sound like, would it make the standard backbox sound like a sports one or would it just sound crap.
i ask because i want to get a 182 style exhaust to fit the 182 rear bumper i have on my car, to do this i am getting the 182 style pipes welded on to the...
cheers for the link mate
heres a PS of the sideskirts, ive got the replica ones, i ordered them from here off ebay and they came within a week http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=025
laura are you using p38 car body filler, if so i would recommend using the isopon metalik filler as it sets as a metal compound, making it structurally more stable. p38 may crack and effecting how long the wheel refurb lasts for.
i you just want to tart them up to sell on then it should be ok...
