Ditto. I have no idea how much gain in hp... but it was much keener to rev at the top end. Literally flew to the redline. Also, on occasion it would chirp on a fast change from first to second in the dry. Simply never does this since I took the decat off.

Love everything except the blue driving lights or whatever they are. They scream Halfords Chav to me on an otherwise lovely looking motor.

I think Icarus (clever lad) told me the difference are mainly inlet manifolds, plenham and of course throttle actuation (DBW v's Cable). He said that he treats them as being essentially the same engine.

They're ok if you don't abuse them too much. There will always be failures, but by and large they don't seem too bad.

The Mk3 Clio is by far the best in terms of build. Not saying it's German standard but it's pretty f**king good. Out of my 172, gf's Mk3 Clio and her current car (MINI Cooper) the Mk3 Clio was the most solid. Her MINI creaks as much as my 172.

I'm all out of medals. The point is it uses an OEM replacement filter element, to fit a particular airbox. It's not an airbox/filter package designed from the ground up like maxogen. That's the point I was trying to make. Which you would have seen, were you not hellbent on trying to show off...

Proven? Which ever one you choose it's much of a muchness in performance terms. My 172 feels strnagled after I went from ITG Maxogen back to ITG panel filter though.
