I will post a basic wiring diagram later, obviously I'm not entirely sure just how many batt lives you have, so with regards fused distribution it's merely a guess.....
thanks for that, brightened my evening no end;):rofl:
OK, now we've established we both have a sense of humour lets talk audio....(pun intended).....
which trim panels you struggling with??
what effect you after, (sq, sql,spl)??
what items need going in the boot, (subs, amps, crossovers...
99% of headunit amps use a switching power supply which basically means they are already bridged.....no too complicated.....
ohms law, if you halve the impedance, output will double, (as will current draw)....
at say volume level 25....
10 watts into 4ohms = say 3amp current consumption
20...
Without seeing the extent of the problem, I would be looking at bringing the speaker to the door card rather than cutting the trim up.....You can usually achieve this using multiple MDF baffle rings as spacers, but obviously this all depends on any curvature of the stock plastic shrouds, (always...
Yes mate, quite a few have......
Yes mate, I know of a few......
Congratulations......
They certainly do......
You come across as a bright person, a little opinionated but bright, if you check the quick links at the top you will find a 'search' function, simply use this, all your questions have...
OK, lets say the driver didn't realise the dent man had popped a control rod out whilst working on his car.....on his first drive out hes involved in a minor shunt, access through the drivers side is restricted by a car hes come up against, during the impact he recieves a blow to the head so is...
i wouldn't insure my wheel barrow with Tesco insurance....
brother-in-law insured his Mazda MX5 with them, had a monthly payment plan....
In the fourth month the car was stolen, then recovered damaged two weeks later....the car was assessed very quickly and he waited patiently for an offer or...
you can mount 'crossovers' almost anywhere, just be wary of water/damp & remember they do get warm so require a little breathing room, (obviously due to cooling issues you shouldn't wrap them in plastic bags to protect them from water/damp etc etc)....
just a little friendly advice;
this has bearing with all brands of headunit....just more so with Pioneer..
If using external amplifiers, then the order in which you connect/disconnect your RCA leads is important....
when fitting/removing your amps....
CONNECT RCA LEADS LAST....
DISCONNECT...
just place the inertia reel on a flat surface and pull the belt as normal, should free off straight away, (if not then the belt has gone too far in and pulled up against the actual clip, you will need to actually get it to wind in a little more to free the locking mechanism).....oh, and this can...
AH, I see your problem.....
My advice would be;
Plan your install around what YOU want....unfortunately your not entirely sure what YOU want so we are at present simply throwing recommendations at you....
You need to get out and actually listen to a few different installs and see which type...
let me get this right.....
door works fine...dent man turns up...opens door and fixes dents...you pay, he leaves...you then find door handle no longer opens door......
then....
pick up phone...ring dent man...tell him door don't work...dent man returns and rectifies fault.......
Why recommend 2ch class A/B amps for a sub???
I understand class A/B will produce slightly better sound quality, but they also burn more current....always a concern with stock power/charge circuits....
I say go class D mono and go for double the subs rated input power, this will allow...
Interesting point.....
As stated length of cable plays a big part.....
When selecting power cable for an audio install you need to consider two different things, one is safety, one is voltage drop....
0AWG at 16' will support massive ampage safely, but voltage wise you wouldn't want to exceed...
In your price range i would look at units from last year, (these units will be discounted), I would avoid Mutant at all cost, these units seem to have circuit boards made from chocolate, (melt at body temperature)....
Kenwood
Blaupunkt
Clarion
Pioneer
JVC
suggest you visit local Halfords tomorrow, have a play on their display units, see or rather hear the different brands & models in your price range, check menu functions etc etc......then order your new unit on-line, (assuming its cheaper)....
tbh Sony have gone downhill over the last few years...
