From experience, you can tell torque variation when accelerating. Flat spots/dips within the ranges. With the RS2 it will just pull and pull. Granted it's not great lbft figures, but it's there all the time which makes for a much more drivable engine.
Not worth doing anything extra to mate. Would you be doing the work yourself? If so, just get it up and running again, but if you have to get someone to do it for you, i'd imagine it will cost more than the car??
Other option might be the 24-120mm f4.0 lens. If I can get one for a decent price second hand. It would give a little more options for shooting, but i'm not sure if it would be fast enough and i'd be in the same boat
Hadn't thought about it like that, but the main drive for the change is due to lighting issues. I assumed that the 1.4 will take in more light, giving better shots in low/s**t lighting? The 18-200 is at f4.8 at 50mm.
I'm open to other suggestions lens wise, but i'm only looking at around £300...
Currently i've got a D40 with nikkor 18-200 VR lense. The main reason for buying this was for motorsport work (couldn't afford the 70-300mm at the time), but i'm not getting enough time for this use. The main time i'm using the camera now is for family/friend occassions (weddings/birthdays etc)...
I assume the plenum has a pressure gradient to atmosphere, causing the flow of air into the chamber? If there is a way to increase the pressure cascade, ie. Increase the plenum volume, reducing the pressure. Making the air flow faster.
I don't do engines, but that's how it makes sense in my...
Still waiting on some bits, but I'll update you shortly ;)
How does the bench flow work? Is it a pressurised system?
Surely the main way to improve the inlets is increasing their size and allowing more air volume to be contained?
Reservoirs would need relocating I'd imagine. Have you thought about getting the inlets fully polished internally? Widening the ports may not provide gains, but a bit of work on the exhaust side to complement might be worth looking at. My standard inlets are maxed out now Nick. They are ported...
