Misconception #1: Many retailers seem to be telling consumers that plasma monitors will only last a couple of years which is false as you will see below.
Misconception #2: The gas plasma inside the plasma TV can be refilled or replaced when it burns out. This is false...
I disagree - I've yet to see a LCD thats image is better than a well setup plasma display unit.
But if you want the best quality you need to go back and use old proven technology - CRT.
Just because the main stream manufacturers are pushing a certain technology ie LCD doesn't mean that it is...
As your looking for a 42" unit I would go for a plasma.
LCD are perfect for small screens up to 37"ish and plasmas work better when 40" and bigger. Also I'm yet to view a LCD were fast action images don't blur slightly due to the refresh rate.
To be totally future proof get a set which can...
You know what Floodie, I originally wanted a Becker unit, but they only have one aux input which can be used for either ipod, 6 disc or stalk adaptor!
Next on my list was Alpine but couldn't find one I liked without 'GlideTouch'.
I own Pioneer home cinema equipment but had never though about...
If you can tell the difference between any 'A' brand £250 car stereo then you must have super human hearing. At this price range it is all about the features and what works best for you and your car.
It is true the illumination on the higer spec (& more expensive) Alpines is better, but in most cases you have to also have the horrible 'GlideTouch' system. Which IMHO just does not work very well.
I'm not knocking Alpine, I just think for the features the Pioneer is hard to beat at this price.
You can pair up to four phones and four phonebook contacts.
Being an '05 car you could might have the new CAN bus radio called 'UPDATElist'. A CAN bus adaptor will cost you £99, if you have the earlier system it will only cost approx £30.
I got mine direct from http://www.incartec.co.uk
I looked at both Alpine and Becker, before making my purchase. All three brands are good IMHO.
But for the money the Pioneers is streets ahead, sound quality is fantastic and works ace with my ipod nano. Even the hands-free phone quality is simply brilliant and much better than my the factory...
Paul did both my dads motor and my old M3, top job as well!
Cost was reasonable at £400 for both cars (2 days work) although this was over a year ago.

I keep spotting a very neat and tidy dark blue renaultsport clio on and around Gravell Hill in Croydon. Last time I saw you you were heading down as I was coming up.
Looks like it is fitted with a Viper as there is the red ram pipe end on the left hand side of the lower grill.

Does the ITG Maxagen come with a replacement hose like the viper?
When fitting the ITG do they recommend removing the air hose valve (located near the horn)?
The LRC100 plugs into the wiring loom for the Origin b2. I took a live feed from the cigar lighter for the b2.
The LRC100 is attached to the car with extra strength outdoor felcro stuff from Halfords.
Here's my original post...
Yep I've installed my old Target LRC100 to my Trophy.
You don't need to take the front bumper off, just remove the front grill for better access.
I've got mine plugged into an Origin b2 (makes life easier).

There is little or no difference to the sound when fitting a Janspeed sports cat with the std box, although I can confirm my car does pull and rev harder with it fitted.
A few weeks later I had the Janspeed rear box fitted, and found little or no performance increase over std rear box and...
