Exactly, I always stick to the respective manufacturers paint cleanser when using a boutique wax, especially on a customers car, to ensure best possible durability.
Agree, you will hinder durability with these oily ones. I'm not a fan at all.
Ideally get a small bottle of Cleaner Fluid perhaps. Works well with a DA
In short, yes - I have seen this a fair bit on 'new' cars from dealers, who have valeters getting paid literally £6 to prep a car, using the same poor materials all day long. Most people don't seem to care, or realise the marks can be removed.
I'm fully registered as a business and insured so...
Unfortunately this isn't a full write up (yet) as I have misplaced the memory card with the first part of the detail on (washing stages), so I only have a few pics of the correction work and a few quick 'afters' to show people how Desire looks on black.
Please excuse the current state of my...
Desire seems to be the best overall AF wax, but not sure when or if it will be released.
I've used all three and obviously Spirit is best, being the range topper. Would I take it over Glasur? Tough question, and I think Swissvax Shield needs to come into the equation too.
Thanks all!
Most of the AF range is superb. The tyre dressing isn't very durable but it's being reformulated ASAP after user feedback, which is superb really.
This R may be getting a full orange peel removal, wet sand detail which it desperately needs tbh.
It's all a bit of a mystery Dave, but from what I understand, Auto Finesse have only made 20 pots, most of which people can win, and some have been sent out as gifts to some detailers - I being one of the lucky ones! Nobody knows if it will ever be released or how much it will cost... but I...
It sure is getting nippy out there, but at least the snow hasn't descended upon the Midlands just yet, unlike this time last year!
This morning saw me travelling across to Norton Canes, near Cannock, Staffs, to cleanse and protect this sexy Golf R in Candy White ahead of its imminent sale...

Sorry Gally, only just seen this - silly phone!
I love Z6 and Z8, everyone should have these in their collection.
ZAIO has impressed me a lot lately, even on quick clean ups, it seems to make light work of any tar and small pieces of contamination, and is obviously a superb base for Z2 or Z5...
Today saw me travel to a sunny but chilly Shrewsbury to Lee@BespokeCarCare's unit, to meet my mate Dale and spend some time giving his recently acquired R26.R some love ahead of it being put to bed for Winter.
The aim of the day was to restore a bit of life into the paint and lay down some...
Yep I'm well priced for someone with proper insurance and a unit. £149 for a one dayer or £269 for 2 day correction.
Some are charging silly money now..
Re: What have you ordered?
Indeed, nice order there Lewis.
I ordered some Z5, 2x5L of Surfex HD and some more Scholl S17+ today. Picked up some Swissvax bits recently too
Yeah its the water getting into the wood, making it expand then crack! My bristles are separating too - not impressed, but they are the best and worth the extra.
