Keep in mind the the Koni are not really "adjustable". The adjusment is there to compensate the wear, if you turn them very stiff from new they're not going to last for long.
I say they are the perfect match for Eibach sportline springs, for a fast road setup. For track use look somewhere else.
I have 182 manifold+sports kat+k-tec mild steel and it's too loud.
We're developing a new 63.5 mm stainless steel catback with a stealth exit, it'll be quieter than any of the k-tec systems and it should perform well, I'm going to have the car on the dyno both with the k-tec and the new system...
I don't know about gains, is there a dyno of the milltek system?
Do they change the cat?
For quality, there are bettere systems, Milltek is just very advertised as "the best" but it isn't.
Have you seen this page? That's total BS!

And...
I'll take the new top mounts tomorrow morning, but I still haven't bought the new dampers yet...I don't have the budget this month, insurance and mot coming...
Nobody makes a manifold for the 182 or the 172 as the 4-2-1 of the 1st one is already very good.
Milltek quality has been an issue for a long time...
Gains with just the exhaust is not much...give a look:
This a system with a sports HJS cat (best quality available on the market), resonated...
Thanks to Fred for this thread. I'm getting 4 done, zinc-plated, they are 40mmx3mm with a 11mm hole, so I'll modified them to get it up to 18,5.
I'll fit them to the new top mounts, if they work I'll let you know.
I just talked to the Renault dealer for the top mounts I was waiting for. Turns out it's 50 € EACH...:S a bit steep don't you think?! It's the complete package with the bearing etc.
And he ordered just one. I'll get both this Saturday morning...
Don't worry, mine is knocking too, from the right side, when I turn the wheel standing still...I hope I'll solve it with the new top mounts+washers.
Speaking of washers. I just checked, we've got 1400 40x3mm zinc-plated washers in storage...12mm holes so I will enlarge it and that's all!
We...
For a car so light and with not very big wheels they really are crap. I think the whole car is a bit under equipped for the performance it offers, bearings, joints, arms...
A golf GTI or a Cooper S is much thougher!
Really Fred? I always though that just the prokit are ok with the stock dampers, and on different cars not even those...on the Cooper the pro-kit are -30~35mm and at 50k km I feel the dampers are not in the best shape.
The heavy 17" wheels don't help I guess.
I asked a damper specialist here in...
OEM dampers Matt?
I bought the sportline used from here and I'm waiting for the Koni dampers...d*mn I'm poor :-( this month I've got MOT and insurance, pluse gas is going sky high!
Renault here in italy charge 40+ euros for the top mounts complete with bearings.
Small OT:
For Fastdanbar, there are two Eibach spring sets:
- prokit are progressive spring rate, they lower around 20 mm front, 15 mm rear, painted black.
- Sportline are fixed spring rate, -30 mm all around...
That's true but the amount of camber is very dependable from the kind of tyre you use, slick tyres can get 4-5°, road tyres 2-3°.
And if you do a lot of motorway is better stay with the oem values, to avoid irregular wear.
On the rear is even harder to understand what's the best.
Well, 1.2 is not small either, especially if you ave different values between right and left sides or between front and rear.
I think the perfect setup is somewhere between 0 and -1 mm at the front, with as much camber as you can (1,5°~2,5°), and 0 or +1 mm at the rear (not sure about camber...
