Powercoating the parts is the way forward - it's tough and does not stain/scratch like rattle can paint. It's not that expensive either!
However to do it you have to have the parts off the engine.
But saying that most of the rattle can attempts I have seen where the parts have been left on...
From the systems I have seen I think they are a great bit of kit for the money - have had one or two baffle fails but as you'd be purchasing the unit new you also get a lifetime warranty for peace of mind.
We use Pipercross filters in all our applications and are very happy with them. There were some issues however with the panel filters for the standard ph2 airbox - the rubber edge was beginning to separate from the filter element, but I think it has been rectified now.

Not worth the outlay. It doesn't improve output, just alters it's delivery. The part is £700 new, £200+ second hand and fitting takes quite a few hours + a lot of strong language. Save your money!
